Evidence for man-made global warming hits 'gold standard': scientists

The site was created by the same person that maintains the well known "Wattsupwiththat.com" climate website. He does good work. "Surface Stations" was his first site, it shows that a **majority** of weather /temp. gathering stations set up around the US have gradually fallen out of compliance. If you click the "Odd Sites" tab, it is hilarious, it shows "official" temperature gauges that are now located *directly next to" a hot A/C window-exhaust vent, a burn barrels, a BBQ cooker, a light bulb, and etc. Surprise! US temperatures start "rise" in the 60s-70s, just as those AC units were put into windows around the country - directly next to these established weather stations. So recorded temps, begin to "rise." It's a case of 'the Post Office goes into weather-gathering biz,' good enough for govt work, they really didn't care about maintaining rigor in temperature measurement standards. They did not maintain the strict conditions required for accurate temp readings over the decades, and now - they want to impose central planning and global "carbon taxation" off of the inaccurate information.

I show the Surface Stations website to my economics students to encourage them to question data on this issue and data on ANY govt policy plans, and proposed interventions.

And every time I come back into the metro area I live, I see a 1 to 2 temperature rise on my car thermometer .
Yet this urban heat island effect (where all the temps are measured), is never discussed.

So we CAN doubt the scientists then. I have to question in fact any scientist who can say with such confidence that human activity is the prime cause of global warming. And that is just step ONE in what is really a POLICY debate in the end.
