I have never smoked pot but if others do, I keep quiet.

Still, I immediately recognized this was the dumbest, most expen$ive snap decision Musk has ever made.

Yup, this does not surprise me.

He’d be fine if had only been a random victim of some DoD/CIA secret LSD testing.
But he had to go and make his own choices and smoke a joint!

What exactly is there to investigate?

I have held a security clearance for over 30 years. When states started legalizing marijuana, we all received letters informing us that drug use was still a Federal crime. We were also informed that if we were ever caught, our clearance would be immediately revoked.

The thing that you do not seem to understand is that Elon Musk and his boosters here believe with all their heart that he is above the law. If he did something else that resulted in everyone else getting their clearance revoked like demonstrating emotional, mental or personality disorders; a pattern of incidents or high-risk, aggressive or unstable behaviors, they would also defend him without reservation. Oh wait, they do that also.

Desert rhino, you claim the the British guy was a pervert. Produce evidence to support your claim. Or are you a false accusation person?! Are making up false news or do you have any proof whatsoever?!

Far beyond 10 years ahead, the rest have zero interest in ever innovating where space travel is concerned. The core competency of most government contractors is strategic incompetence.

But the pot smoking episode is one of the dumbest things he could have done. He is absolutely dependent on the government tit for everything and he put it all at risk over that stupid stunt.

Of course he is a huge Democrat so the feds must be mighty conflicted over all the bribes they are getting from other contractors to take him down vs going after a major Democrat donor.

People working in the transportation business are heavily scrutinized. Is it too much to ask the same of the people who launch enormous rockets carrying our spy satellites?

LOL...scratch any billionaire and you will find arrogance. Musk has delivered the goods, as much as either Jobs or Gates.

Yes, Musk’s companies have had federal contracts and subsidies...so have most large businesses (Boeing, Northrup-Grumman and many, many more).

Honestly, Musk seems more normal and less of a leftist than a lot of other people in similar positions. I didn't see anything wrong with his behavior on the Joe Rogan podcast.

Marijuana should be legal the same as alcohol. It's already basically legal for personal use. I don't believe it doesn't have any negative side effects, but it's not as destructive as alcohol either. Both can be huge problems for some people, but they're both used by a lot of people in moderation as well. It's not heroin or methamphetamine.

That guy turned out NOT to be a pedophile and it’s irresponsible for you to be calling him one because Elon did in a fit of rage. Elon probably already settled with the guy, he’s got the money and has other more-pressing PR nightmares to deal with.

Yep. Like it or not, DoD is very old-fashioned and changes for things like this are evolutionary, not revolutionary. The military has a real drinking culture (an image that they’re always trying to shake). I work with a lot of ex-military guys and won’t hang out with them outside of work because of the amount that they drink. I don’t want to model to my kids that anything you go out and do is just a backdrop for getting drunk because drinking is how you REALLY have fun. Right or wrong, the DoD is OK with you going out and blowing your brains out on booze all the time as long as you don’t get into it so deep that you start screwing up at work. But take one hit on a blunt and it’s your ass, mister. It’s hypocritical as hell but that’s how it is.
