They got their chance to virtue signal how moral they are - knowing it would be ineffectual.

Actually, if they vote on an override, you should expect even more Senators to vote for the override but they will stop at 66 votes. Thus, the override attempt will fail, but 7 additional Republican Senators over the 12 who voted originalky, will get to virtue signal in a vain attempt to get useful idiots to vote for them when they are up for reelection.
