Pennsylvania lawmakers are considering a bill that would create a gun registry across the state.

The bill would require gun owners across the state to register their firearms through state police every year.

Under the proposal, gun owners would need to undergo an annual background check, including fingerprinting.

Gun rights advocates are against the idea, saying it’s a violation of the federal and state constitutions.

It’s not about public safety; it’s about hating gun owners and punishing politically incorrect thinking.

1st, registration.
2nd, confiscation.

Bet many police officers will just love to find out how much man hours this sort of thing would cost, given that such man hours could be instead spent on fighting the real criminals instead of the ones created by pieces of paper.

How about a “whackjob” registry, which would require the freaks and their shrinks to be registered?

If anything happens, both can be held accountable....or the adult babysitter can recommend civil commitment for the potentially dangerous suicidal animal.

Unconstitutional just like every gun law on the books. The right is clear: It SHALL NOT be infringed! The right is not the governments to dole out, it is the right of the PEOPLE, it is ours. The government does not “own” it. A few days ago I saw the video the shooter in New Zealand made. He had a Gopro camera on his helmet and he just walks into the Mosque and starts shooting people and they are completely and utterly defenseless, it was like watching an elephant step on ants, completely helpless, defenseless people and it convinced me more than ever NEVER allow someone to disarm you EVER because what they are doing is setting you and your friends and your family up to DIE. That’s the bottom line. They are literally taking away your right to live if you should ever come to a life threatening situation.

The bill would require gun owners across the state to register their firearms through state police every year.

You mean, re register? As in, every year, every gun owner takes inventory and submits it to the cops? And, I'm sure the cops/state will do all the processing for free, too. /s

That pig of a state kalifornia has shown what happens when the sheeple accept the first stages of gun confiscation. PA needs to wake up.

If PA adopts this and is dumb enough to try to enforce it, things are going to get very ugly. There will be large scale bloodshed - the very thing they claim they are trying to prevent, yet will cause. Hmmm....

Yup love to get rid of that sh*thole. Fortunately the rest of the state outvotes them on occasion.

I urge any and all Freepers to move to Pennsylvania. Plenty of good jobs and districts that can swing conservative with a few votes.

PA Constitution-

§ 21. Right to bear arms. The right of the citizens to bear arms in defense of themselves and the State shall not be questioned.

Anyone trying to enforce this proposed law will be deemed mentally defective and likely suicidal.

Mother from PA, lived in state couple of years

Once get past the Rat infest sections around Philly and
Pittsburgh its very conservative

Deer hunting season is sacred with most workers taking first day off to go to cabins

2/3 of the males above 16 own firearms (often many)

To subject most the population to being treated as criminals
with registration and annual background checks is not going to go over well

The bad/insane folks are not going to abide by that law...got any other ideas?

Expect massive non-compliance.

Then, if they threaten stronger enforcement, tell them...

"GO AFTER REAL CRIMINALS AND LEAVE US ALONE!"

I so wanted to comply but due to that terrible boating accident yesterday all my firearms and ammo is at the bottom of the river.

Don't forget, that was the day your boat's GPS was broken too ... right? ...

“Want lower taxes, less gun control you have to move to the South.”

Better still, move West. Nevada has NO INCOME TAX, Ditto for Wyoming, and they are “gun friendly.”

But isn’t that the case for any number of states? Just look at what’s going on in New Mexico. Twenty-five out of 31 counties are refusing to “honor” recently passed anti-gun, gun laws.
