Monday on Fox News Channels The Ingraham Angle, HUD Secretary Ben Carson reacted to attacks on President Donald Trump proclaiming he is racist, especially in the wake of last weeks mass shooting in New Zealand.
Carson batted down those accusations by relaying his own personal interactions with Trump.
Theres a narrative thats being painted there, Carson said. You know, Ive had an opportunity to interact with racist people throughout my life. And [Trump] is not one. He is so easy to be around. He treats you with the utmost respect. You know, I talked with early on about the plight of many people, particularly in the inner city. And the compassion that he showed is very impressive. But you know, he doesnt wear it on his sleeve. He believes that a rising tide lifts all boats. And he doesnt go around playing identity politics. He said, Lets just fix this so that everybody does well.

Carson: I’ve interacted with racist people, Trump is not one of them
Mar 18, 2019
I love Ben Carson and could listen to him for hours. I have the same feeling for Victor Davis Hanson. I also like Jack Keane.
If everyone had the wisdom, integrity, and manners of Ben Carson we would not need government.
My dad was not a book reader, but a year or so before he died he read Dr. Carson’s book and I can’t think of many people he spoke more highly of.
Trump’s respect for Carson goes back to the miscue in one debate where he waited with Carson so he wouldn’t be embarrassed. You can’t plan that sort of thing, it’s just the kind of person he is.
Always liked and respected Carson. Glad he’s on the team.
Lefties say Trump is racist because he expects people to do the job they were hired for, no excuses, no special treatment.
At least that’s the way I see it.
Dr. Carson personifies class. He is a truly great American with a great American story and a great American attitude.
Was hoping to hear specific names of the bigots with whom Carson has interacted.
I heard Dr. Carson interviewed YEARS ago on The 700 Club. I was impressed with him back then. Had to be 35 years ago.
Thomas Sowell also has a high degree of wisdom and logic that is unmatched by most in our government.
Carson: “I’ve interacted with many racist people....” AND MOSTLY THEY ARE DEMOCRATS!
There, I fixed it. ;>}
And then there was that time Trump stayed with Carson at the debates backstage when Carson didn’t hear his cue.
The only Racist people I have ever met were Black, Brown or a member of the Hollywood Weenie crowd
And then there was that time Trump stayed with Carson at the debates backstage when Carson didnt hear his cue.
That was the first thing that came to my mind, as well. What a nice moment that was. And that piece of garbage Jeb! just elbows his way past them and smirks.
“What a nice moment that was.”
Never have forgotten how Donald Trump stayed back in the debates with Ben Carcon, Ted Cruz, and others walked past.
SOME writers have so confounded society with government, as to leave little or no distinction between them; whereas they are not only different, but have different origins.Society is produced by our wants, and government by our wickedness;Society in every state is a blessing, but Government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil; in its worst state an intolerable one . . .
the former promotes our happiness POSITIVELY by uniting our affections, the latter NEGATIVELY by restraining our vices.
The one encourages intercourse, the other creates distinctions.
The first is a patron, the last a punisher.
For were the impulses of conscience clear, uniform and irresistibly obeyed, man would need no other lawgiver; but that not being the case, he finds it necessary to surrender up a part of his property to furnish means for the protection of the rest . . . — Thomas Paine, Common Sense (1776)
The black activist response to Carson will be, Uncle Tom.
When Ben was running along side the rest for president he would have been my second choice. I did not feel that Ben was ready to be president. Some of his ideas were a bit off, but they were not all bad. He would not have come close to doing the good that Trump has done because he lacked a certain understanding of the way things really are. But he was the only other republican candidate(other than Trump) who was not pure deepstate. You could just tell that he had a good heart.
