Exactly. I still remember the old refrain “we have to fight them over there so that we won’t have to fight them over here” refrain from the George W. Bush days. And all the while we were “fighting them over there”, Jorge was importing record numbers of them. And then we had to have limitations on our civil liberties (like the “Patriot Act”) because we had enemies among us.
