The SIZE of the military budget MUST be shown in order to put this in perspective.

Who here couldn’t cut ONE PERCENT from their expenses without facing dire financial consequences?

I think we’d all keep our houses.

This from a dept that couldn’t account for 5 trillion in spending some years back.

I just figure it’s money spent by people who don’t care that it’s our money.

I think this "wall job" falls directly under the Army Corps of Engineers. It certainly fits their purpose.

Also...Maybe an opportunity for young people to work as apprentices.

Of course, I don't know how Unions would feel about any of this.

Make DoD officials do their own powerpoint presentations and schedule their own meeting instead of paying beltway bandits to do it and you would save twice that.

... some of the projects identified are outside the fifty, including Guam, Guantanamo Bay Cuba, Norway, Hungary, Jordan, Japan, Qatar, the UK, and the UAE....

Guam,the UK, and Gitmo I can understand, but these other places? Why are we footing the bill to build in those countries?

What else could be expected when no one is held accounted for while spending other people’s money?

I assume there’s some kind of auditing dept checking that our money is spent honestly across all areas of government.

When I was an Army brat, the military created schools for us wherever they could. The accommodations could be pretty spartan at times.

I spent half of the fifth grade and my whole sixth grade year attending classes at a repurposed training facility with WWII era Quonset huts for classrooms.

The kids will be just fine without sparkly new buildings.
