A 42-year-old gay headteacher who was fired for having sex with two 17-year-old boys he met on Grindr has won a discrimination case against his former employer. Matthew Aplin, the former principal at Tywyn Primary School in Neath Port Talbot, Wales, was found by a tribunal to have been discriminated against, reports The Telegraph.
The “openly gay” teacher of 19 years had arranged in August 2015 to meet with the two boys on the gay hookup site and the three of them had group sex. Social services and police uncovered the liaison days later, but it was determined there had been no criminal activity.

my limited experience with Wales is that they have some real discrimination there in their educational system, (religious/racist ..?...) but...
apparently teachers having sex with students is all fine and wonderful?
used to be, schools were expected to stand in the position of the parents.. with their faculty providing good positive moral examplars for their charges
Sex with minors is not a criminal activity? If true then this could open up more teacher/student sex encounters.

Great Britain has been queer forever. The whole ‘public school’ system is one gay romp. (Public school means fancy private school for some reason)
The age of consent for sex England and Wales. The age of consent to any form of sexual activity is 16 for both men and women. The age of consent is the same regardless of the gender or sexual orientation of a person and whether the sexual activity is between people of the same or different gender.

So I take it that 17 years old meets the “age of consent” laws in Australia? I also take it that the teens were not students of the man, or the legal stand of the school might have been stronger? None of that makes it “right”.

I don't know how they handled legal aged students and teachers having physical relationships there but I would have expected it to be a firing offense for women and young men or men and young women.
This case suggests otherwise. I'm surprised.

First, the headmaster used Grindr to engage with the two teenagers who were not said to be of the same school as the headmaster.
Second, the police report said they approached this case from an angle in which the suspect was a danger to children.
A teacher commits a crime when they have sex with a student from their school as this deemed to occur from a position of power over the student.
What is not known is the age of consent in that area. There are some cases where the age of consent is 17 in the United States.
Lastly, there are occurrences in which an underage individual has faked their age but only revealed the age after the deed. Unless verification of age is done before the deed there is no way to know. There might be ask their dat of birth. That is one way but how many laughed at the proposal of a contract before the deed? If this person was a heterosexual and had a threesome with three girls then more than likely it would have been okay with most given that the 17-year-olds did not go to the same school as the headmaster worked and the age of consent was adhered to. If the girls were younger than yes it would be child predator territory.
Since the police said no crime, as the law is what we as conservatives go by, was committed, it could be postulated the age of consent is 17 and that the 17-year-olds were not from the same school. as the headmaster.
This would be a case of discrimination even if it were a hetero male or female were involved. While a gay person has no business in our schools, in our scouting organizations and anywhere near children, the fault here lies with Grindr for allowing two 17-year-olds on their app when it is an 18 and over app (Not that I use it).
