Why would muzzies climb up into the attic, where they say this fire started, to start a fire? It increases the chance of getting caught, and a fire set on the main floor would get to the attic anyway. Renovations are more likely the cause.
Because the majority of the wood is there. The majority of the bottom portion is stone.
My gut tells me it wasn't because of the renovations...
Images similar to 9-11.
I can't believe there aren't fire extinguishers every 50 ft..
If it was arson, I doubt the perp wwnt up rhere and lit it with a match. More likely devices were ser there to burn at a later time.
My thoughts exactly. Climbing a flight of stairs to start a fire is such an inconvenience. It would have been more like them to learn how to fly a jet airliner and high-jack a few and then fly them into buildings. Less chance of getting caught, because that's what scares them most.
(Sorry couldn't resist)
If one were to think about it, given the wooden frame that held up the roof, a fire at the base might not have had the same effect.
It's the same thing with the World Trade Center. If the planes had hit lower in the building, it might not have come down because of the thicker framing at the lower part of the building. The fire at the WTC weakened the steel which caused the top 20 floors to collapse, pancaking the rest of the building.
In this case, making the effort to set the fire at the top, away from the reach of the firefighters, might have ensured the total destruction of the cathedral that a lower fire would not.
Just my speculation.

Get that logic out of here.
It's easier for everyone here to scream "Muslims!" like after every mass shooting when it's first breaking, until it turns out to be another white guy.
“Why would muzzies climb up into the attic, where they say this fire started, to start a fire?”
Are you saying that 8.5 million Muslims in France are prohibited from having construction jobs there?
