South Carolina Considers Using Firing Squad as Alternative Death Penalty Method
South Carolina lawmakers are considering legislation that would add firing squads to the state’s existing execution methods.
The House Criminal Laws subcommittee on Thursday approved a Senate proposal that also changes South Carolina’s default execution method to the electric chair.
Lawmakers acted after prison officials told them they don’t have the drugs needed for lethal injection and don’t know when they will be able to obtain them.
Don Zelenka is South Carolina’s deputy attorney general. He says 29 prisoners are currently on death row.
The bill has passed the Senate. If the House Judiciary Committee approves it, it could pass the House before the Legislature adjourns May 9.
South Carolina’s last execution was in May 2011.

Well I wouldn’t say painless unless its a head shot, but it is quick, cheap and effective.

Here’s what they should use: Carfentanil.
Carfentanil is so powerful most vets and zoos keep less than 20 grams of it around at any time. Dogs that catch a whiff of it can die instantly. It’s 100 times stronger than the painkiller fentanyl and between 5,000 to 10,000 times stronger than morphine. The equivalent of few grains of salt of carfentanil is enough to kill an adult human.

Try Carfantanyl. About 100 times as powerful as fentanayl. Useful for tranqualizing elephants and killing Moscow theater hijack terrorists...and theitr hostages.
Gary Gilmore knew what he was doing in calling for a firing squad instead of smelly gas.
It always works. Injection is used because it doesn’t subject the audience to blood or noise, but it’s no easier for the condemned man than the firing squad.
It’s very effective, and costs the state very little.
The left is trying to make executions by lethal injection impossible, we should go back to the tried and true, firing squads, hangings, electric chair.
I kind of like the idea of the alternative to lethal injection being a session locked in a cement mixer wsith bowling balls and concrete blocks, then being driven down a bumps gravel road to an ice cream shop.
