Germany passes refugee migration 'stress test': expert report [gefälschte nachrichten]
Deutsche Welle ^ | 05.08.2019 | Ben Knight

Angela Merkel’s immigration policy was given a largely positive assessment by the Expert Council of German Foundations on Integration and Migration (SVR), though one of its members described the confusing situation at the European level as a “catastrophe.”

The panel of nine academics from various fields appeared together at a press conference in Berlin on Tuesday to present their annual migration report. It evaluated policy developments of the past few years, particularly those in response to the so-called “refugee crisis” of 2015-16, when more than one million individuals, mainly from Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan, sought asylum in Germany.

The report’s central theme was the “balancing act” between controlling migration and integrating those refugees who are entitled to live in Germany.

The experts pointed to what they called almost “hectic” reforms in Germany’s immigration legislation in the years following 2015, when local authorities and state governments were occasionally reduced to seizing school halls to house the sudden influx of refugees.

“One could ask whether Germany is prepared for another crisis,” Hans Vorländer, political scientist at Dresden’s Technical University, mused out loud at the end of the Q+A session. “I would say yes, the shock of ’15 led to a stress test, and Germany actually withstood that stress test quite well, and would now be much better prepared for a crisis than it was in 2015.” …

“The panel of nine academics from various fields” = egotistical butt-heads with limited knowledge about anything.

I might be in the minority here, but much of the blame for all that is on George W. Bush. He gave us the Afghan quagmire. Then he turned Iraq upside down. That gave the Syrian rebels a relatively safe place to operate (Western Iraq). So indirectly Syria is on Bush, too.

Of course there are many other guilty parties. Stupid and naive Merkel. Feckless Obama, the EU princes, etc.

Politicians are generally the dumbest, least creative, incapable people in any society. We are suffering because of this.

Bush never pushed Germany to take on any “refugees”, or if he did, he was never on the record. And we were not in Syria until Obama, FWICS.

Bush certainly dragged the war on for far longer than it should have been, and never finished the job. The object was to take out terror-sponsoring regimes, and Iran was always tiptoed around. Setup for Obama’s takeover.

And to resist integration measures here could be very expensive for us in the long term. As an economist I see integration measures always as an investment.

Same old same old but this time the leftist-elitists are speaking Deutsche and farting through leather.

But there has been criticism of the humanitarian conditions in such camps, where asylum-seekers are held from arrival until application decision.

Same old same old

whether the fact that children living in the camps are not educated in local schools is in line with the UN Convention on children's rights.

Same old same old

I don’t think Bush pushed Germany to take any refugees (I might be wrong). But for sure Bush helped create all those refugees in the first place.

As for Syria, Saddam never would have allowed those Islamist rebels to operate out of western Iraq and eastern Syria. Never. But Bush conveniently toppled Saddam.

The correct policy in after 9/11 would have been a simple travel-ban on anyone from approx. 25 countries of the mid-east, North Africa and South Asia. It would have been simple, cheap and very effective. Bush, of course, set off the destabilization of Iraq.

But it was Obama, Clinton, Brennan, McCain's destruction of Syria with their fake "color revolution" which really set off the migrant crisis. It destroyed nearly all Syrian cities. It completely destabilized the borders of Syria. Thus it created a path for millions of people to move across the mid-east through Turkey and Southern Europe. Even then, such a huge mass migration over such a great distance must have had lot of help and organization from malevolent forces, from Erdogan in Turkey, to Globalists like Soros.

I’ll give you an example of their lack of understanding.

A significant number of towns and villages in Germany were ‘ordered’ by the state government (not the federal folks) to prepare to handle 300 to 500 incoming refugees in 60 to 90 days. The majority of these turned to ‘dumpy’ hotels that they could rent out entirely, former military barracks, or used gymnasium halls for months.

However, a fair number went out and signed long-term leases (for up to eight years) for container structures. These could be delivered in two to four weeks, and set up into a ‘village’ in just a couple of days. As the numbers of refugees dwindled down in 2016, this odd problem started up. By early 2017, you’d have a container village for 300 people that was now housing maybe 30 people at the most. The monthly rent of 12,000 Euro (figure around $15,000) had to be paid whether it was 300 people in it, or 30. By mid-2017, a number of state governments realized the mess with empty cots and empty rooms....so they ordered a vast number of container villages to shut down. The contracts? They all stipulated a ‘fee’ to shut down a container village early. You’d be talking about a six-month cost factor required to get them over to dismantle the housing. Who paid this? The German tax-payer.

Another example, some villages went to guys who had warehouses that were empty. The guy would agree to build twenty rooms in the warehouse to house refugees. The guy would put up the walls, doors, add a kitchen to each ‘apartment’, etc. The contract would be for a minimum of 25,000 Euro per month for the 20 apartments. After six months, the guy had cleared his cost for minor construction.

These intellectual guys have no understanding of what was done or the true cost of the period (2013-2017).

Don’t forget that Assad and Saddam were of the same political party. No shortage of Islamists in power throughout the entire region. Like I said, Bush did not finish the job, and he allowed his RINO tendencies to get the best of him.

We have to understand that Saddam threatened Bush Sr and that wasn't acceptable so of course we had to drain the treasury, send men to die, to protect the father of the son.

I like that war about as much as “peace with honor” Vietnam.

‘The panel of nine academics from various fields’

I doubt any of them have kids, or if they do, they have multiple passports for the kids.

And how many, if any, are heterosexual males? Maybe 1, if they’re lucky.

LOL! Yep! Those are the Yurp elites I came to know so well having gone to school with them and worked with them. Like good little trained monkeys they will stand up in front of the public and proclaim all is well.

Meanwhile in reality crime has significantly increased, the quality of life for many Germans has declined considerably, a stunningly low percentage of the “refugees” are employed, the vast majority are living on the public dole and there is far less money available for Germans who paid into the system for years. Of course you won’t hear any of that in the elite controlled MSM over there. Anybody who dares mention it will immediately be branded as racist Nazi Hitler. Meanwhile, everybody knows it’s true....
