To San Franciscan Chris Chin, the owner of a vape shop in the citys Tenderloin neighborhood, the proposed e-cigarette ban being considered by city officials would be tantamount to becoming the ultimate nanny city.
Ive renamed it Ban Francisco because you cant do anything in the city, said Chin, whose store, Gone With the Smoke, stands to go out of business if the city enacts the proposed ban. You cant get a plastic straw or bag, or flavored tobacco. Whats next?
Chins sentiments capture an undercurrent of frustration that a city once famous for its free-spirited ethos has strayed so far from its roots that many of its policies, framed as progressive, are starting to feel downright oppressive.
Were adults. If we want to vape, we can do that, said Chin, who is staunchly opposed to the proposed ban. Freedoms are becoming less and less.

I never understood why and how e-cigarettes got allowed in the first place. They, like cigarettes, need complete, total ban. Everywhere.
Also, pesky though it be, since e-cigarettes have zero effect for anyone but the user (as demonstrated twice by in depth gotcha studies, one by the state of California), a ban can't leap the hurdle of overriding individual liberty. The case is far easier for sugary drinks if you're talking about risk to individuals, not to mention the addictive properties of sugar vs nicotine.
But that's alright, why care about liberty, limited government, etc when you can be a nanny?
They give you the needles to shoot up with and throw in the street and you are free to exhibit all manner of bodily function. You also will not be arrested for minor crimes including shoplifting less than $750. But if we catch you vaping or using a straw you get the chair. Figure that one out.
vape tantamount, human excrement, plastic straws and needles no
You forgot marijuana. That’s ok. Inhaling harsh smoke and then holding it in. But tobacco. Off with your head! All I can say is don’t mess with my cigars. I don’t inhale. Seriously. Now that would kill me.
You would virtually eliminate STDs if people only had one sex partner. Let’s ban sex outside of marriage and make divorce illegal.
Create a black market. Show some American spirit.
Vaping pure water vapor is harmless and fun.
Do you have a humidifier in your home? Same thing.
Why?
but recreational use of pot has been “green” lit In Caliphony

>>Nanny state or progressive politics?
Is there a difference?
They won’t even ban “bathhouse sex” between random men.
Starting to become oppressive?????
In addition to all the stuff named, how are they with guns? How about even a toy in your kids frikkin happy meal at McDonalds? How about if you (dear sweet baby Jesus) use a pronoun to refer to someone that they dont prefer?
Leftists are perpetually one ban away from utopia. They are far, FAR more oppressive than the most conservative of religious conservatives the Left always sneered at ever were.
Why?
You do realize nicotine is not carcinogenic right? Its the smoke particles inhaled that contain the carcinogens. Ive never vaped in my life btw. What is with the authoritarian impulse to take away others choices when they arent harming anyone else?
Leave that to the Leftists.
“Were adults. If we want to vape, we can do that, said Chin, who is staunchly opposed to the proposed ban. Freedoms are becoming less and less.”
He voted for it, he got it. By the way, “Gone with the Smoke” is a stupid name for a vape store.
Considering that governments now earn 80% of all profit from the sales of tobacco, I’m going to guess a cigarette ban is not in the cards.
If government were honest smoking would be mandatory.

“Figure that one out.”
I am glad. I once saw someone use a straw!
