America’s Broken Immigration System?
It’s not broken.
It has not been ENFORCED for the last 35 years!
We need to just shut the border down.
No one gets in.
The elites view our declining population as the “national emergency”, and this as the solution. That is why neither party will address it; the Republocrats have agreed the border shall remain open and uncontrolled - and those coming across are given room and board (and a ton of other things) at the expense of American taxpayers.
There is no indication that Trump won in 2016 (instead of Hillary) as far as the immigration issue is concerned.
It was broken on purpose by the last FOUR Presidents.
The laws were written by Democrats and Bush League Republicans to be full of holes and hard to enforce deliberately to flood the country with fraudulently documented foreigners.
President Trump is trying, but he is resisted by both parties the judiciary and the bureaucracy
This overload on our border is being done deliberately so Trump loses in 2020 neither side wants him to win again GOP SUCKS and has not lifted one damn finger to back our POTUS!!!
Trump knew that when he re-opened the government - and re-opened it nonetheless. He gave the globalists of both parties a huge PR victory, and basically robbed us of hope.
If these illegal aliens do not show up for their court date, is a bench warrant issued for arrest if law enforcement contact is made at a future date?
If Trump loses in 2020 it will be because he didn’t deliver on promises made during the 2016 race; he didn’t have to re-open the government without an immigration deal, but he did anyway. Logically speaking, any economic gains for the average American will be more than offset by the costs we’ll bear for this additional huge underclass we’ve imported since Trump’s election.
I doubt anyone is enforcing any laws at all anymore - unless a heinous crime is committed (one that can’t be broomed under the carpet). Nearly 20 years ago, a group of visa overstays killed thousands of Americans - and we STILL don’t enforce our immigration laws.

I disagree, Lurk.
I trace the collapse all the way back to the Ronald Reagan Amnesty (IRCA) in 1986.
Reagan had an amazing first term, but by 1986 he was drifting Left on almost every issue.
I also reject the “Trump Is Helpless” excuse.
If that’s true, Trump should have mention it BEFORE we elected him president.
Before 2015, Trump was always an immigration dove.
As far as I’m concerned - on the immigration issue - everything Trump has said or done since 2015 has been political theater.
He certainly doesn’t seem to be doing much in stopping the invasion.
Perhaps with Ken Cuccinelli at DHS things will get better. He is described as a real hardliner on immigration.

Re: Bench Warrant
Yes - but only about 1% get caught.
As long as they are not known to be gang members, drug dealers, or violent, if they get caught again, they will be released again, on their own recognizance, until their new court date!
As you said, political theater.
Now he wants what every first term potus wants, viz. a second term. He'll again parade the issue, he's the sole solution, etc. But if he gets a second term, we'll see his liberal side.
I also agree with you about the Trumpbot mantra "Trump is helpless" excuse.
8 U.S.C. s 1152(a)(1)
From the above: "Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate."
He's just making baby steps to distract his constituents into thinking he's doing all he can, meanwhile, all he's doing is stringing it to 2020.
BTW, the trumpbots will be along shortly to castigate and condemn you. As they have me, frequently.
Yeah you would think that after 911 immigration control would have been priority number one. Instead we got the TSA and little else.
