Posted on 05/27/2019 2:14:13 PM PDT by Hojczyk
Time Magazine columnist Ian Bremmer apologized Monday for fabricating a quote from President Donald Trump about North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un that went viral the day before.
My tweet yesterday about Trump preferring Kim Jong Un to Biden as President was meant in jest, Bremmer tweeted Monday. The President correctly quoted me as saying it was a completely ludicrous statement. I should have been clearer. My apologies.
Bremmers apology comes after he tweeted a quote attributed to the president alleging he said, Kim Jong Un is smarter and would make a better President than Sleepy Joe Biden.
Many people quickly retweeted Bremmer and expressed their dismay. After several hours, he took down the tweet. He defended it as plausible because it appeared in the same vein as Trumps earlier praise for Kim after he insulted former Vice President and current presidential candidate Joe Biden. The tweet was on social media long enough for CNN contributor Ana Navarro and Democratic California Rep. Ted Lieu to quote tweet Bremmer, but they proceeded to delete their tweets after he admitted to making the original tweet up.

“The tweet was on social media long enough for CNN contributor Ana Navarro and Democratic California Rep. Ted Lieu to quote tweet Bremmer, but they proceeded to delete their tweets after he admitted to making the original tweet up.”
Limp-wristed, no-integrity liar sez what? The bum should be fired, shunned and bit**-slapped senseless by his editor. Fake news is the result of such lunatics being hired in the first place.
He needs to be fired. Theres no way anyone can trust what he writes anymore.
Ana Navarro probably has the most extreme case of Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) than any other talking head of the Fake News Media. How has her head not exploded yet?
“My tweet yesterday about Trump preferring Kim Jong Un to Biden as President was meant in jest”
Now you are lying about the lie.
His quote has merit!!!!
Or to un ring a bell.
Mission accomplished. His propaganda/lie was disseminated & consumed.
What other quotes did he forge (lie about) and did he apologize for them?
Will he undergo sensitivity training for anti-Trump and-conservative bias?
Man what a bunch of cut-ups!
Didn't Alexandria Ocrasio-Cortez just step in a pile of chit saying that her '12 years 'till we're goners' was a joke?
A few years ago all the news stories started saying "And no word yet as to whether the accused man apologized", "And he didn't even apologize" and "He did say he apologizes and that goes a long way".
Applied to criminals and Dems in trouble (do I repeat myself?). Never to a conservative----ever.
That columnist forgot to say he apologizes AND has a handwritten note from his mother saying he wasn't feeling well when he wrote his stuff.
Everything the media says is in jest. They are by nature a joke.
The fact they retweeted something that inflammatory in the first place without any effort to verify if it was accurate first speaks volumes to the fact they were indifferent to it being true or not - only deleting it after the initial poster tweeted out admissions that it was false which left them exposed.
She’s literally lost her mind. Her hatred has consumed her.
indeed AOC did. But she clearly wasn’t joking. It was only after it continued to make her look absurd did she come out and claim it was a joke and how shallow minded all of us were not to recognize it from the beginning.
These reporters can’t just do their job, they’ve set out to change the world.
Was in jest my ass!
Sorry, your fake, phony fraud apology is not accepted.
Bremmer intended this to go viral as it did. He wanted people to believe that Trump actually said it. He’s a liberal progressive, after all.
Guess it’s the ‘elite’ version of a fake hate crime. How tacky do liberals get? This tacky.
