On June 10th, the United States will impose a 5% Tariff on all goods coming into our Country from Mexico, until such time as illegal migrants coming through Mexico, and into our Country, STOP. The Tariff will gradually increase until the Illegal Immigration problem is remedied,..
....at which time the Tariffs will be removed. Details from the White House to follow.

Time to stock up on Don Julio Anejo and Quervo.
The president has less authority to impose taxes and fees than he has for a general tariff. It would likely require a bill through Congress authorizing it. It would be a new business tax.
However, he can accomplish a very similar thing by imposing these tariffs...which would require a bill through both houses with a veto proof majority to STOP him from imposing.
Hes doing whats available for him to do under existing law.
I think he is getting a little wild with tariffs. He is going to shock the economy. Too much too fast never goes well.
Sorry, I don’t think this fills the bill.
Sorry, I don’t think this fills the bill.
Not good if it hits tequila!
Why should we put them up at all?
You can see their numbers increase as we appease them.
Only if you buy Mexican products...which no one will if the price goes up. California avocado growers and American tequila makers will be voting for Trump.
You do realize that Mexico actually wont pay he tariffs, right? China doesnt pay the tariffs either. The American businesses that import the goods actually pay the tariffs. Thats how a tariff works. Its not like a Mexican truck full of avocados is now going to get charged a 5% tax at the border. The importer pays that when it gets delivered and hen they pass that on to the store and they pass that on to you.
And just like that, Trump controls all of the weekend news show media narratives. YET AGAIN....
This Thread needs a meme have the Koch brothers acting like those two brothers in the movie Trading Places.
Scott, Is this an invasion? Is this serious?
Sorry a 5% tariff that US consumers are paying for Tequila, cilantro, fruits, Mexican party favors, etc. doesn’t seem like much to me except irony is that I am paying if I buy...Not Mexico...
Why not huge fees on remittances - cannot those be called tariffs and they be aimed at those breaking our laws, not mild tariffs on US consumers.
I just wish he would do more and would have months ago...What happened to the National Emergency declaration idea that was going around???...Eisenhower used it as did Bush.
HE gave Mexico a year instead of shutting down the border—that might have actually done something to stem the tide.
And it is a tsunami! Today over a 1000 moseyed over the border in El Paso...What is happening is insane!!
Drastic actions are required—shroud have been enacted already...
I don’t have enough cash to buy more but I would suggest folks out there if you have cash and do like investing in stocks wait a little bit cuz I believe we will take another hit for a little while but it will recover tremendously. Do not panic and continue to buy when other people are selling and sell when other people are buying.
Point is over the past few months much has been made of no place to put them so werelease them...
I say don’t let them in USA, and have tents in Mexico...I thought that was being considered last fall...
Put them in tents and then send down all military judges to hear the bogus refugee claims—don’t let them in...Hire new ones, etc...Whatever it takes.
Once in they are NEVER leaving.
Lot of great ideas have gone by the wayside...
“The only thing the corrupt Mexican gov. know is money.’
The cartels are the gov’t there, I think.
How about a 1.5% tariff on everything each month Mexico does not halt illegals crossing their lands and coming to ours.
