EL PASO —A transgender woman from El Salvador died after falling ill at a private Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention center in New Mexico, officials said Sunday, drawing new scrutiny to a facility that has faced allegations of mistreatment of gay and transgender detainees.
Johana Medina Leon, 25, died on Saturday at Del Sol Medical Center in El Paso, ICE officials said. She had been taken to the hospital complaining of chest pains on Tuesday at the Otero County Processing Center. Earlier that day, she had requested an HIV test, which came back positive, officials said.

People of every age die. It is predictable by an actuarial table. Trans people have placed a huge strain on their natural body with hormones so they can create a non-natural body. We are still learning about the effects of this, but it appears that over time trans people die more frequently of various causes than a similar group of non-trans people.

People with fatal diseases need serious treatments. Many such treatments are different for men than they are for women. Regardless of how one ‘identifies’, the treatment for someone with XY chromosomes can be different from one with YY chromosomes. Thus, this man must be treated as such. Was he?

Was this a mentally ill man dressed up as a woman, or a mentally ill man who had been surgically mutilated, or some sort of confused mentally ill woman? Maybe he was a “Dreamer” and an “Undocumented Migrant” too?
At the very least when confronted with nonsensical terms like “Transgender Women” we have to insist on answering in terms that we choose.

So he/she was about to die anyway and got to die in the comfort of a US hospital rather than the Third World Hellhole where he/she came from. Sounds like he/she got a pretty good deal.
