Anyone still buying the lie that he’s pro-2A? I’m glad he’s POTUS instead of HRC, doesn’t mean I’m blind to the fact that he has stabbed gun owners in the back multiple times.

The problem with silencer bans as they are just as unenforceable as bans on so called “trigger mechanisms” like bump stocks when the same function can be done with a heavy duty rubber. An effective silencer can ben made with a motorcycle muffler and some heat tape or a dozen other ways (their are videos for home made silencers all over the internet). True, your average law abiding gun owner may be deterred by such bans, but a criminal hell bent on shooting up their workplace is not going to slowed down by such bans in the least.

POTUS apparently is not a shooter. If he was a shooter, even a recreational shooter, he would LOVE suppressors. His ears would thank him for it.

The “silencer” issue shows the absolute STUPIDITY of the gun laws. All because it has an “image” of being used by criminals and assassins... MOVIE BS!. If the left was consistent, they would DEMAND silencers on all guns .. to cut down on the decibels and PROTECT people from hearing loss. (They try to protect me from second hand smoke, which is bogus and not +100 decibel sound which is real?) And you should see the paperwork one has to CARRY AT ALL TIMES when you have the Suppressor mounted. I had to get a special case for my gun to go to the range to hold the damned paperwork. (Also it took 3 years to get it approved).

I personally don’t like silencers. That make harder to quickly aquire the target and harder to maneuver in tight spaces.

Just did another search. Still no word about how he got the silencer.
Considering all legal silencers are registered, it shouldn’t be a difficult thing to find out.

Of course if he built it with $30 and a trip to Home Depot, that would make it illegal, and more laws wouldn’t have stopped that.

Hmmm... Tell you what, richardhead, I don't like them either... At least from my personal experience, they take up too much room in my dresser drawer when they are not being used... They and my socks are always jostling with each other for space..

Now where does "don't like them" == "outlaw the 2nd Amendment"?

For what it’s worth, an email from GOA:

“Dear XX,

You may have already seen the news. But President Trump has nominated an anti-gunner to lead the ATF.

His name is Chuck Canterbury, and he is the president of the anti-gun Fraternal Order of Police.

Sadly, Canterbury has a long track record that should concern gun owners:

He’s testified before Congress to support anti-gunners like Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor and Attorney General Eric Holder.

Under his watch, the FOP backed Congressional measures to expand the unconstitutional and failing NICS system — which is the same system where 95% of the initial denials are false positives.

And on the state level, the FOP under his watch has supported Universal Background Checks and opposed Constitutional Carry.

Please email your U.S. Senators and urge them to reject the Canterbury nomination. GOA will be sending follow-up alerts when the Senate comes back in session. So stay tuned for additional updates.”
