I agree with this. Illegal immigration was the #1 reason why I voted for Trump. Secondary to that was bringing jobs back, eliminating bureaucracy especially with regards to business, cleaning up the VA, strengthening our military, etc.
But illegal immigration was #1.
Now, I realize he is one person at the head of 1 branch of the fed gov and that most in Congress and most in the judiciary are working day and night to try and prevent him from building the wall and securing our border.
At this point, I'm just not sure what more he could be doing. Some say, put massive amounts of military on the border. Fine. Then what? They really aren't going to shoot anyone. How do they physically prevent the invaders from crossing? They don't. They will simply be relegated to helping the border patrol detain people until they are bused into the interior of the country.
He can't get any more money to build the wall. Congress wont appropriate the money. I blame Paul Ryan for wasting 2 years in this regard.
I just don't see much changing regarding this invasion unless and until we get far many more actual patriots elected into the House so that we can (1) Get the money to build the wall, (2) Remove the loopholes that everyone is taking advantage of (3) mandate e-Verify (4) pass a law that mandates heavy fines on employers who hire illegal aliens and (5) pass a law that puts at least a 20% tax on remittances outside the country.
The way the country is RAPIDLY changing, this may be like an uphill battle with both hands and one leg tied behind our backs with an eyepatch covering one eye. Not impossible, but exceedingly difficult. It may take another major terrorist attack to get the fence sitters in our country back in the game.
FR presents an excellent case example of the various stages on full display. However, for those of us who have accepted reality and moved on to consider the next steps, there's no reason to mock others who might sincerely be still locked in bitter anguish.
The key here is that Trump is using Spygate, the border, trade, etc *not* to as events be resolved in order to further national interest, but as mechanisms to leverage his 2020 re-election bid. For example, it's why you see various posters rationalizing de-classification during the election period to further his chances of victory. Lost in the noise is actually winning CW 2.0 by effectively prosecuting the war.
Now, you and I get it, along with some others who may be perhaps more analytic and less wed to emotional attachments. But ridiculing and belittling them doesn't achieve anything other than perhaps your own ego satisfaction.

This is an interesting point/concept. However, think about this for a moment.
Trump sends 100,000 troops to the border. Well within his authority. And, I'd rather our military protect our border, than someone else's. Ours first.
Now, what do they do on the border? How do they physically stop people from streaming over?
Lets be clear, they aren't going to shoot anyone. Imagine the video all over every news cast across the globe and every social media platform. Images and video of U.S. troops mowing down unarmed "poor" people. Just not happening. Maybe in the 1800's when the army was in fact protecting our border. But not now, not in 2019.
So what do they do there? Stand in front of them? When the people go around them, then what?
The military would simply wind up being an extension of the border patrol. Detaining these invaders until they are forever release into our country and adding to the 20-30+ million already here.
At this point, I really only see 2 ways this gets fixed. 1. A majority of patriots are elected to the Congress to do the things listed in #25, and more.
Or, 2. There is another major terrorist attack, that is a result of our wide open southern border.
It’s weird how the alien invaders are coming in by the hundreds of thousands and we still only have “11 million” illegals living in this country. Same as the 1970s.

In the hundreds of postings here in Free Republic rarely is this brought up. It’s Known As Reciprocity. We should be treating anybody illegally crossing the Mexican border into the US the way the Mexican’s do Any American illegally .crossing into Mexico. No” free” lawyer paid by Mexican taxpayers. Entry denied heavy fine and possible imprisonment. before getting kicked out.
When allowing the hordes illegally entering the US through the Mexican border avoids recognizing and dealing with the 2nd class treatment that American citizens get which is in their constitition while legally residing in Mexico.That not just includes denial of voting privileges but employment, and land ownership in their name.
Worse yet All when given to illegals and property ownership by them is used in states which Mexico has previously claimed espcially Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, Colorado and of course California .that could be used to support any reclaiming effort should regime changes in Mexico arise , Our border with Mexico has always been contentious not only with smugglers but on ocassion with Mexican bandits and military.,Allowing potential hostiles to the US property ownership to happen in those states could lead to serious problems in the future.

As well as any Mexican citizen entering illegally exempting those who do so legally and meet US citizenship requirements.
What never gets mentioned is that 2nd class treatment Americans get in Mexico in all of this. If we applied that reciprocal policy . Would that continue ? By.prohibiting and strictly enforcing existing laws prohibiting any illegal entrant employment, voting, and land ownership privileges fully enforced these problems would drop loke a rock. .In other words Once we remove the incentives to Sneak into this country before expulsion no job no voting no landowning this stuff would stop.

So, - Everyone that is a legal citizen of the United States, is valued far less than the illegal invaders. Why then does the working American pay taxes and support a Military that’s more concerned with Public Relations and such , rather than defending the Country they took an oath to defend.
This is the modern American weakness and in the end this notion of not using deadly force (to defend our borders) will result in the loss of the United States (as we know it). What if Pearl Harbor was treated like this?
If they are illegally invading our United States...… then we have to make a choice...………… either we fight all out to win, or we can just continue to surrender the United States to whom-ever cares to illegally invade it and take it away.
