WELLINGTON, New Zealand — A Christchurch businessman who shared a video of worshippers being slaughtered at a New Zealand mosque was sentenced on Tuesday to 21 months in prison.
Philip Arps had earlier pleaded guilty to two counts of distributing the video, which was livestreamed on Facebook by a gunman on March 15 as he began killing 51 people at two mosques.

Craziness. Sharing information should never be a crime. Every “liberal democracy” needs a Bill of Rights like ours... I hope we can keep ours. New Zealand needs one.
Well technically Dinesh went to prison for campaign finance violations. But of course, show me the man I’ll find you the crime. Politicians who break campaign finance laws just have to return the money, but the citizens who give them the money get a federal charge. Go figure - it’s the politicians who write the laws right?
Technically Al Capone went to prison for tax evasion, not gangsterism.
They’ve decided doing something even if its completely stupid is better or at least looks better than doing nothing.
Photos of dead bodies from 9-11 are rarely seen. Dying people yes but the bodies after they hit the pavement etc (impaled on lightposts, killing a priest giving someone last rites...) were not seen.
I haven’t looked lately but recall seeing a bodybag shot in a French photo magazine on an anniversary of 911 and maybe a photo of a murder victim’s hand in rubble.

If this guy *simply* transmitted the video there's no way he should have been put in prison.But if,perhaps,he transmitted it *and* encouraged others commit such an act I can see prison time being appropriate.
The problem is that New Zealand is unbelievably leftist...no friend of the West and *certainly* no friend of the US.
He is in jail because Sharia Law demands it, and he will be killed for his blasphemy.
I wonder if they used the film crew that shot the “Lord of the Rings” stuff in that country.
