I can understand that. OTOH:

But there are so many options that they could consider...
For one thing, they could just place fig leaves over the offending parts.
Or they could just touch up the painting a bit to make it less racially diverse.
They could pain Che Guevara's face over George Washington's, or maybe pain Pol Pot's face over the man jumping over the body.
Or they could get the explosives experts who blew up the Bamiyan Valley statues to come to California and blow up the frieze. Maybe they could just blow up the whole school. Might as well. And start over afresh.
There are so many possibilities

I have seen other GW art that includes equally incorrect material. Washington never grew cotton, nor did any one else in Fairfax County. It is to far north for the growing cycle of the plant. Also until effective ginning machines were developed little of the plant was grown, except on the Sea Islands in Georgia.
