Jason Chaffetz: Why Nancy Pelosi will not be fired until at least 2021
Fox News ^ | June 22, 2019 | Jason Chaffetz

Progressive members from safe blue districts, egged on by celebrities, pundits, and academic coastal elites are ratcheting up the pressure to impeach President Trump. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi may cave to their demands but not because she is threatened with being ousted.

The naive liberals in her caucus may have visions of pushing Pelosi even further to the left, especially on impeachment, but the speaker knows they can’t get rid of her.

Unlike former Republican House Speaker John Boehner, who resigned the speakership under pressure from his right flank, Pelosi has no such worries. She saw what happened to Boehner and took proactive steps to insulate herself from the demands of her base. What's stunning is that nearly every one of them voted for it.

Early this year, House Democrats passed a standard rules package that would govern the House during the 116th Congress. On a party-line vote, 234 Democrats supported the rules package. But that package was anything but standard.

Among the surprising changes in the small print was a little-noticed provision changing the threshold for the Motion to Vacate the chair. It was a lot of “insider baseball” that few voters – and probably not many members of Congress could fully appreciate.

The Motion to Vacate is the process used to replace a speaker of the house in mid-session. It works like this: the majority party introduces the motion to vacate, which declares the office of speaker vacant and forces a new vote. This is a privileged motion, meaning anyone can offer it....

A huge champion of the poor, Nancy Pelosi’s $22 million Napa home boasts tennis courts and a Bocci ball court. She is lucky enough to also have a helicopter landing pad.

Being poor is GREAT! Just not for Nancy...

A political creation of unions, she employs ZERO union people at her vineyard and at her luxurious bed & breakfast, Auberge de Soleil, where a buger and fries will set you back $22 before tax and tip.

The same is true of the 16-branch, upscale restaurant chain Pelosi partners in, Piatti, located in 5 states in the USA, shown below. Of the nearly 1,000 employees working there, ZERO are members of a union.

Employing union people is FANTASTIC..!!! Just not for Nancy.

Must be nice, huh?

Let’s take a look at a different branch of Piatti, the photo below shows their branch nestled in La Jolla:

Pelosi also played a critical role in exempting American Samoa, where 80% of the island works for Starkist Tuna, from a mandatory minimum wage hike, from $5.35 per hour. Advocate For The Poor Pelosi is a major Starkist shareholder, you see.

Bad working conditions, and $5.35 each hour. Sorry Charlie..!

In a single year the bar tab for Pelosi’s huge government plane exceeded $100,000 —one time she diverted it over 1,000 miles in order to pick up a single order of chocolate-dipped strawberries.

In Feb 2018 Chris Matthews claimed the GOP's strategy to maintain its congressional majority was to relentlessly attack Nancy "because she is an ethnic sort of person".

Behold the highly ethnic, hard-scrabble Pelosi clan below, decked out in gangsta finery in South Central Napa Valley:

Excellent post.

It may be “The Peoples House” but the current Speaker is sure not one of the common people.

Considering her place in the line of presidential succession someone really should ask her if she is suffering from Mild Cognitive Impairment or some form of dementia.

For and on the record.

I’m sure I’m missing the point of this article.

He says Nancy is safe as Speaker until January 2021. That’s when the current terms of members of the House expire anyway. The results of the 2020 election could well decide whether Democrats, assuming they still control the House, will re-elect Nancy as Speaker.

It would be unusual to see a mid-session revolt against the Speaker anyway.

She’s obviously not all there nowadays. But it’s the elephant in the room. Everyone is afraid to say anything. You and I see her and see how rambling and disjointed her speech and communication is. But no prominent people in the media or in politics will mention it.

Someone in her family or other fellow Democrats should pull her aside and tell her it’s over. Whether that ever happens is questionable. The closest thing to that happening, could be if her fellow Democrats decide she’s not radical enough, and elect someone else as Speaker after the 2020 elections.

Since the subject is apparently taboo, no presstitute is willing to ask her, I’m betting she’s suffering from a serious cognitive illness.

I’m surprised that Breitbart hasn’t tried to get her on the record on it, especially if she’s being treated with something not available to John Q Public.

Mmmmmm....Nanzi's hubby Paul is one good-looking dude. Looks hot to trot to me.

Paul was lounging around the pool one day when a topless sun-bather straddled
his lounge chair, snapped her thong and said:" What do you want to do later, Paul."

Paul said. "Later? I'm going up to my room to have some milk and cookies Nancy baked for me."

It's nice to know what is the new rule that insulates her:

Pelosi has no such fears. Under her rules package, the Motion to Vacate now requires a majority of the majority before it can be voted on by the full House. That is a much higher threshold and nearly impossible to achieve. What was once a tool of the minority (not the House minority, but the minority of the majority) has been eliminated.

As a result, Pelosi can keep ignoring calls for impeachment as long as she likes. She is solidly in place as speaker until the 117th Congress convenes in January 2021.

I always wondered about this picture. Why did the Pelosis dress everyone in white?

I think it's meant to stand for the gritty, REAL quality of the mean streets of Napa, the daily heroic rising above the hardscrabble of life there:

Like when Whole Foods runs out of Belgian goat cheese, for example, or when a rider takes a tumble at the local Polo chucker.

Photobulbs pop at the gala luncheon at Chez Villarez on a pretty regular basis, and it can temporarily blind or daze the people sitting nearby.

NAPA BE GANGTSA --YOU DIG..?

She will stroke out into non compos mentis long before that— she cannot put words together at this point, and her “staff” is “leading” her. Very dangerous. Too bad for them Steny Hoyer doesn’t have any balls. Mafia of the dems will take her out. the mormon ne’r do well who wrote this— is all talk and zero action.. which is why he went into Fox.

While unusual, there are many things that are not actually resorted to the presence of which of itself is influential. An armed society is a polite society.

With this rule, Pelosi can afford to tick off either the left or the right of her own party with impunity. Without it, ticking off 20 people of her own to the point that they would like to see her gone is no big deal. Likewise, if she really starts to loose it but doesn’t want to surrender power, until she has lost control of close to two thirds of the house (and/or some key lieutenants) there is nothing that dems who don’t like her can do.

The rule change is very bad, though not so bad as it would be in a unicameral legislature where executive powers are also vested in the leader of the governing party.

Nancy D’alessandro.... the Mafia former Mayor of Baltimore’s daughter. Legendary democrat Baltimore graft and corruption machine, father was a real crook. Baltimore people who aren’t still scared, respond here. It was like real life “Reservoir Dogs”. The port, the brownstone polish section near the port, the entire issues of that port ever since the Revolutionary War. Quite a lot of history on the “how” it is “legalized” corruption and an institution. Through Agnew... also.

She IS the mob... that’s why all the white.
