Trump approved cyber-strikes against Iranís missile systems
Washington Post ^ | June 22, 2019 | Ellen Nakashima

President Trump approved an offensive cyberstrike that disabled Iranian computer systems used to control rocket and missile launches, even as he backed away from a conventional military attack in response to its downing Thursday of an unmanned U.S. surveillance drone, according to people familiar with the matter.

The cyberstrikes, launched Thursday night by personnel with U.S. Cyber Command, were in the works for weeks if not months, according to two of these people, who said the Pentagon proposed launching them after Iran’s alleged attacks on two oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman earlier this month.

Good. Pres. Trump knows what he is doing. This is in response to Iran's attack.

If the scumbags at the WP know about this there is still is a very bad leak problem. This plus the details of the ICE raids. Enough! fix this.

This law prohibits the knowing and willful transmittal of classified information to unauthorized persons. I wonder who is leaking these details to the press.

Weather we are or are not doing these things, this should not be published in the news.

It is the Washington Post so I have serious doubts as to the credibility of the story.

Releasing the raid info just let the cockroaches scatter. President Trump knew the moment that info came out no one would be arrested and deported

Sounds like BS. If/when we were to exercise this kind of capability, we wouldn’t be talking about it.

The WP has direct ties to the CIA.

Perhaps the surveillance ops on the POTUS are still active.

This is a really crappy idea. The point of cyberstrikes is to disable enemy weapon systems while we’re bombing the crap out of them, so they can’t attack the pilots conducting strike missions or launch missiles at our regional bases. To do it out of the clear blue is a complete waste of a carefully hoarded, single use capability.
