She said “See this climate change is causing all this and those who don’t believe are idiots.”

You should have told her that it is all the jet airplane traffic pollution that is causing the climate change, because too many idiots are flying but should use ground transportation.

Sometimes when I find someone like that the most entertaining thing to do is laugh out loud at them and express astonished incredulous mirth that they are someone who believes in that socialist crap.

I actually have gone into knee slapping laughter.

It has caused a few outraged responses but never a fight if done with a kind attitude of “I’m so sorry for you.”

Makes sense why the ancient civilizations built things out of heavy stone. Hard to move and water can’t wash them away.

Wouldn’t the poles continue to block while they were moving?

No. My understanding is that the magnetic poles are a result of the molten iron core of the Earth, and that a periodic movement of the molten core reduces the magnetic fields enveloping the Earth, and when the core settles down the magnetic poles are flipped from south to north. The north and south magnetic poles wander around, and their movement has increased rapidly during the last century. So we still have a protective magnetic field for now, but it may collapse to zero during the magnetic pole flip before building a new magnetic field.

Right after I posted the question I did a search and found an article that said there would probably still be some protection but they would meander all over the place.

Get the sunscreen without the expiration date.

I haven't kept up with studies on the magnetic poles. The data is changing rapidly. One thing I didn't realize is that a 2nd north magnetic pole occurred over Russia. The two north magnetic poles are moving towards each other, and the south magnetic pole is moving (slowly) to meet them. Strange stuff.

This link
https://www.megakastro.gr/weather_agro/solar_modulation.htm

shows maps of the movement. It also describes interactions between the Sun's magnetic poles and the Earth's magnetic fields, along with an energy transfer to the Earth's polar cap with a voltage differential of 100,000 volts. Goes on to discuss 22-year sunspot cycles and how it is creating global cooling over the last couple decades (heresy according to liberals). Interesting data, that the Sun is responsible for Earth's weather!
