No, Gizmo wanted to do the long vines again but this time I kept my eyes on him and he finished up. We had fun out there yesterday.

I got a new pair of shoes at Walmart. The old ones were getting worn out.

Going to try and do some grass cutting this morning. The rains last week grew the grass some and it needs mowing this morning.

These cats would be miserable inside. They are terrified of the big man hooman. But Li’l Bit is a lady and so quiet you don’t even know she’s around. I hope Ginger will calm down if I let her in more and more.

Thank goodness we don’t have coyotes and bobcats among other critters to contend with. I really would worry. All we have is two silly yapping dogs next door.

Fireworks stands are a good little business if you don’t mind working outside in the summer heat. But customers like you make it all worth it. Hope you enjoy the ones you get...AND that it doesn’t rain on the 4th. That would really suck!

I think I’ll head out soon. Getting waaaay sleepy. I’m modding a stream, but it might be over soon...I hope. It’s about the protests in Hong Kong over some new law that China wants to impose upon them. Nighty-night!

Sounds like he likes those vines a lot. Maybe there are new critter smells in there that intrigue him.

Let me guess. Your old shoes were just getting nice and comfy at the time they wore out. LOL Seems to work that way most of the time and then you have to break in a new pair. :-)

I hope it isn’t miserably hot since you have to mow today. It’s been so bad here that even doing it at the crack of dawn, you’ll work up a good sweat. The “dog days” have settled in.
Good luck!

The others would probably be miserable but Li’l Bit doesn’t seem to be too afraid of the big man hooman since she goes in. Or does she slip in when she thinks he isn’t looking? LOL

Yah, having too many nasty varmints around is unsettling. We think there might not be many coyotes around this year since we see rabbits fairly often. Haven’t seen many of them at all the past several years because coyotes killed them. And I haven’t heard any howl when the trains go by either. Some sort of wasting disease was running through their ranks recently and it might have killed off most of them. Whatever works is fine with me!

As noisy as it gets this time of year, the folks selling fireworks do a good business. You can hear fireworks every night as soon as the tents are allowed to open and the night of the 4th is crazy. I do feel bad for any veterans in the area who might have some PTSD issues though. It does tend sound like a war zone.

There’s only a 30% chance for rain Thurs. so shooting off the fireworks should be a go. Any rain will be pop-up showers all week, not a big day-long rain.

Sleep well and LATE. :-)

Yeah the old shoes had a hole in one of them. They don't last very long and have to be replaced. That's why I get them at Walmart.

I notice one of the companies is coming out with a shoe that measures blood pressure and adjusts accordingly. I saw this on Fox Business FB yesterday. I'll have to look into that.

Just took the pickup out of the garage. Going to start the grass cutting in a few hours. Going to try to get it all in before it gets too warm.

No one at the fireworks tent...someone is not going to be happy besides just customers. Sorry you have to venture forth twice.

When they et holes in the bottoms, it’s definitely time for a new pair. They’re past the comfy stage at that point. LOL

I don’t know what they have in the way of men’s shoes but I bought three pairs of Danskins at Wal Mart a couple of years ago to wear during winter. Canvas slip-ons with thick rubber soles and cushy insoles and they’ve held up really well. Got lucky with those I guess.
Once it’s warm enough, they’re parked and I live in flip flops all summer. Da tootsies do NOT like being closed up in shoes. LOL

Can’t say I’ve heard about the shoes that measure blood pressure and adjust. Pretty cool.

I hope you can get all the grass mowed before the heat cranks up much. Doesn’t take long this time of year. Ooof!

LOL! No big deal having to go back for fireworks. Just have to go earlier in the evening. Will NOT go during the daytime because it’s going to be a miserable week this week. It’s bad enough out there now just because it’s so muggy. The Dog Days are here.

Good morning, Canteen.

Good morning to our

Military, our Allies, and their families.

Hat tip to

Thank you, Star (and Ma) for preparing
the Canteen for today's activities.

Popping in to say hello and Hat tip to our heroes.
We had some cool thunderstorms roll past on Saturday night, and
drop much needed rain on the homestead.
Of course, the old dog didn't care too much for it.
Today will be a bit cooler than the last week.
Hubby being off is throwing my schedule off.
But I'm going to put him to work with honey-dos.

Gonna get ready for our day.
But please stay right where you are.
Chat up the military or a family member.
No need to fret...you know I'll be back!

Come in and sit for a while.
There's always plenty of coffee, tea,
pancakes, conversation, silliness,
and plain old BS

REMEMBER THEM ~ DEFENDERS OF FREEDOM

FR CANTEEN MISSION STATEMENT

Showing support and boosting the morale of our military and our allied military and the family members of the above. Honoring those who have served before.

Beach time, Early Birds!
Or somewhere cool...
The mountains perhaps?
That would be my choice.
For hot...I just walk out the door.
It is a beautiful day today.
Hope everyone has a Mahv'lus Monday!
And a Fabulous Fourth of July Week!
(((hugs)))

Nice to have a name for that sweet lady.

"She told me once she would look into the eyes of each soldier and see the love of their country."

You can look at the faces and eyes of these soldiers and see they cared a lot about her as well.
