White House: 'Little doubt' Iran was enriching uranium under Obama administration's watch

"No, no message to Iran," Trump said. "They know what they're doing. They know what they're playing with. And I think the're playing with fire. So no message to Iran whatsoever."

Earlier in the day, the semi-official Fars news agency in Iran cited an unnamed source as saying that U.N. inspectors had recently weighed Iran's stockpile of low-enriched uranium. According to the report, Iran's stockpile of low-enriched uranium was greater than the 660-pound limit set by the nuclear deal.

While uranium enriched to 3.67 percent is usable for nuclear power plants, enrichment closer to 90 percent is needed for atomic weaponry. Separately, Iran has threatened to rapidly raise its uranium enrichment closer to weapons-grade levels starting on July 7 if Europe fails to offer it a new deal that provides economic relief.

"The Iranian regime took action today to increase its uranium enrichment,' the White House said in the statement. "It was a mistake under the Iran nuclear deal to allow Iran to enrich uranium at any level. There is little doubt that even before the deal’s existence, Iran was violating its terms."

A 1.5 Billion dollar donation will do that.

Obama loves Iran.

Loves the murder.

Loves the thought of America’s annihilation.

Kerry is American Daesh.

This really isn’t that hard to sort out.

Are they still “6 months away” from acquiring enough fissionable material to make a bomb? I’ve been hearing that for 20 years now.

I thought that the Europeans still had a deal with Iraq? Is Iraq giving the Euros the finger?

Looks that way, but on one hand the Iranians probably planned to violate the deal all along and on the other, the Euros (at least some of them) are happy for the Iranians to have an A-bomb.

Of course they are much closer now than BB - before bammy. Bammy boy released their assets and made sure the “deal” (aka capitulation) included allowing them to continue work on missile technology. It also allowed them to enrich. Maybe comparatively not much and not to weapons grade... but it did allow them to improve their enrichment process, perfect their technique, train their people. Basically all that is left is turn the key and run the process to weapons grade material. Don’t believe for one moment bammy’s gift to them stopped or slowed them in any meaningful way. It let them continue under the guise of nominal compliance.

Come on now. The next thing you will tell me is that gun laws don;t reduce violence and that all our tax money is not spent wisely. Democrats understand how to govern.

“U.N. inspectors had recently weighed Iran’s stockpile”

That’s would be the stockpile that Iran shows the inspectors.

Iran has only had working P-1 centrifuges for enrichment. Crude but eventually effective.

Iran’s problem is that their fuel is heavily contaminated with molybdenum. Moly atoms are almost the same “size” as uranium and plug up the centrifuge tubes, destroying them.

So what Iran has been doing all this time is refining out the Moly to get pure uranium fuel that can be quickly enriched to weapons grade, 85%+.

So the weight of the enriched fuel stays close to the limits, but it is much purer as time goes on.

If they can ever get a P-2 working, they could produce enough for a small atomic bomb at least every 30 days from a device the size of a refrigerator drawing very little power, virtually undetectable.
