We had a great time out at the lake yesterday.We got to see some people riding paddle boats. Gizmo also did his usual sniffing around and so fourth. We had a great time.
We did sleep through the fireworks. I did anyway. A.C. sure feels good this time of year.
Very odd to not hear any...but very thankful.
My house backs up to the school playground and there is always someone there, at least trying to be safer. But nothing so far...it’s only 11:15p and the sun doesn’t set until 11:33p. Hopefully folks will still refrain.

It sounds like it wasn’t too crowded at the lake which left Gizmo free to roam and sniff. I hope he picked out some interesting critter scents.
You slept through the fireworks???? People must not shoot off fireworks there like they do here. LOL! I fired my few off then went to the hill across the road to watch everyone else around the county shoot theirs off. It was beautiful and LOUD.

Yep, a lot of money was spent on fireworks around here, as usual - LOL - and there were pretties lighting up the skies all around. There will probably be more tomorrow night, though not as many, and then it’s over til next year.
Glad it’s quiet there though the reason stinks. Y’all need some rain so badly but it just won’t move in and soak everything.
It was hot here, too, and no relief in sight at this point. Rain chances are a little higher through the weekend but showers will just cool us off temporarily if we get any, then it will really be a sauna afterwards.
Tonight the Ladies Auxiliary does Hamburger Steak in gravy with all the fixins and desert.

There were some booms last night but Penny and I closed the windows and turned on the A/C to drown ‘em out.
I loved the President’s Celebration on CSPAN. Watching the flyovers and seeing the facial expressions on both Donald and Melania was particularly heartwarming. Those were genuine smiles of wonder, pride, and happiness.
Had a great day at my brother’s house.
Hi, EGG and Kathy. Yesterday was delightful. Our daughter and boyfriend were backpacking in Glacier National Park for a few days and stopped in to visit us at Hayden Lake, ID. They slept in yesterday and we all went to the cafe at the marina for lunch before we walked around the area. They cooked us a fantastic salmon dinner last night and we then enjoyed the fireworks show over the lake. People everywhere have been setting off big fireworks all over the place — huge booms nonstop last night until after midnight! (It scares me thinking about all these woods going up in flame).
Our weather has been delightful — lots of sun, low 70s to low 80s, bit of rain blowing through now and then, lots of blue skies and big white puffy clouds. So far, no smoke from fires which is really nice.
I sure pray that things improve for you in Alaska, Kathy. That sounds just awful. Best to both of you!

Thanks...the fire danger is getting worse and several evacuation orders were sent out to the Mat-Su valley just an hour ago...lots of dog mushers live out there.
Sounds like you had a wonderful time for the holidays. Hope there is still no sign of smoke for you.
