Hopefully, there’s room for Val Kilmer to appear as Iceman again.

Only on IMAX.

Similarly, few authentic MiGs make it into movies. They usually substitute F-5s or some such - just as the AT-6 is the universal WWII radial-engined fighter.

Baa Baa Black Sheep did not wow me entirely, partly because the F4U Corsairs were wallowing around, to let the Texans keep up.

Survives Tailhook, transitions from the F-14 to the F-18, and proves an old guy can still cut it against a younger pilot in an F-35. I’m guessing.

I gave close radar control to Top Gun when they came to Luke AFB and flew against the brand new F-15 Eagle. One of those moments in life when you know you’re going to look back with fond memories and I do.

Good guesses, I suspect. Make it a younger *female* F-35 pilot and I think that's almost a wrap. Possibly said pilot could be the offspring of Charlotte "Charlie" Blackwood, adding the popular estranged-parent subplot.

I hope they do the original justice without going all "girl power", but I have some doubts. Either way, I hope it's a commercial success, if only for Val Kilmer's sake. The guy could use a lucky break.

“Take my Breath Away”, the theme song of Top Gun, describes Kelly’s current condition after many decades of chain smoking. Although she quit a few years ago she continues to vape and has severe COPD. She has to use oxygen intermittently and doesn’t do much that requires exertion, hence her weight problem. She is not the recluse that the article implies and is out and about almost daily. She and her current spouse (#4- first 2 men and last 2 women) are splitting up and have their home up for sale. Kelly plans to buy an RV which she will haul with her dually pickup splitting time between Florida and California where her grandchildren live.

I wasn’t expecting my first reply at FR to be about Tom Cruise, but here we are.

Compared to other Hollywood personalities, Tom Cruise is one of the few that has not become a complete SJW sellout. I understand the Scientology thing REALLY bothers people, and I think that’s where most of the hatred for him stems from, embodied almost solely from that now infamous Oprah couch episode.

He’s actually one of a minuscule actors that I have some modicum of respect for, not on a personal level, but as someone who has shown great dedication to his craft. It’s amazing actually, he’s kept in great shape, and continues to act/produce phenomenally entertaining films. Even Clint Eastwood said he’s the greatest living actor.

And he does this without leaving a disgusting twitter/facebook footprint insulting his fanbase every other day. I admire his professionalism and his ability to not get suckered into that grotesque aspect of modern Hollywood. He could be a serious d-bag face to face, I have no idea, but he is a very good actor and he never called me racist on twitter.

Is it possible for Maverick to stay at the rank of Captain for three decades? I thought the armed forces has a promotion or go policy. If you do not achieve a higher rank in a given time window the branch you serve asks you to leave.
