Jon Stewart made himself part of the political "B.S." when he attacked two Republican lawmakers over their delay of the 9/11 victim compensation reauthorization bill, according to Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky.
The name-calling of Paul and Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, is not a good look for the comedian and activist, the Bluegrass State lawmaker claimed Thursday on "Your World."
"I know Jon Stewart, and Jon Stewart is sometimes funny and sometimes informed," he said.
"In this case, he's neither funny nor informed. I've spent my entire Senate career putting forward 'pay-fors' for any time spending is expanded. I put forward a pay-for for the border funding bill."
On Wednesday, Stewart and 9/11 first responder John Feal slammed the senator for blocking a motion by Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., for unanimous consent on passing the legislation -- which would put money into the victim compensation fund through 2090.

Rand Paul nixes bid to fast-track extension to 9/11 victims compensation fund, citing national debt
Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., derailed an attempt by Democrats on Wednesday to fast-track an extension to the compensation fund for victims of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, citing the national debt.
Paul blocked a push, introduced by Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., to sign off on the bill approved by the House in a 402-12 vote last week.
The bill would ensure the fund can pay benefits for 70 years.
While balking at the bill, Paul pointed to a need to get the $22 trillion national debt under control before adding any additional spending.
Dont these first responders already have insurance? What do they need that theyre not getting?
Benefits for 70 years!?!?
They need to get their pensions over $500K per year.
I’m all for helping with funds as needed.
But they want to fund this through the year 2090? After we’re all dead??
Love it when folks on the Right stand up and tell it like it is.
You know folks, Trump opened the door on folks on the Right doing what we’ve been doing here for twenty years.
About damned time!
Best vote I ever cast.
So,... much,... WINNING!
The guy is and will continue to be a game changer.
2090?
This happened in 2001, the youngest guys there were in their early 20’s, they are 40 now, are we expecting all of them to live to 110?
This is pork gone crazy
Fund it for another 10 years and re-evaluate
FUND 20 YEARS AT A TIME.
It seems every 28 days, Rand has a hissy fit.
How ‘bout the fund be taken directly from the (D) & (R) parties, as they’ve been in COMPLETE control while doing NOTHING to protect our borders for over 40yrs & ZERO ‘over-sight’ that allowed numerous agencies to *NOT* share intel (as if protecting US soil was their basis to being anyway)...
Actually, pleasantly surprised...some on FR actually SUPPORTING us ‘kook’ (L) like Dr. Paul??? D-A-M-N.
I saw the video on C-SPAN. There was no quorum, so Rand could have called for it and forced an adjournment.
I’m all for Rand Paul and John Stewart to have an on air debate.
This is an excellent question. Being employed by government, it seems highly unlikely they each didn't have health insurance already.
What, if anything, is that insurance taking care of?
If there is a gap, additional funds could be made for...say...another 10 years and then re-evaluate again at that time.
But full bore 100% payment from this specially created fund until the year 2090? Definitely sounds like a recipe for gov't wasteful spending.
what does Trump think?
what does Trump think?
Mark Levin was just talking about this. The bill calls for “whatever sums required” for the next 73 years.
Nobody knows what “whatever sums required” means in terms of $$$$, and Congress can’t change it for 73 years.
That’s insane.
I expect a lot of people want to see this funded but trying to offset the additional spending with cuts is not a bad thing. Outrageous outrage excuses get very expensive.
I wouldn’t fund it at all! This is BS, they have fully paid ins that covers it.
Why should the rest of Americans fund the bloated retirements of liberals in NYC? Screw em, not one more dime!
