Comey fires back at Meadows amid report he won't be prosecuted

Former FBI director James Comey called out Rep. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) Thursday night after the lawmaker tweeted about him without tagging him.

Meadows tweeted about Comey’s “silence” at the release of a report from the Department of Justice inspector general (IG) over the leak of memos to a reporter approaches.

“As the IG report on Comey approaches, we’re getting the sound of silence. No Comey tweets. No softball interviews,” Meadows tweeted, neglecting to tag Comey’s account. “Must be tougher when you get questioned by a DOJ Inspector General. The truth is coming. His actions will come to light. And the verdict won’t be pretty.”

Comey quickly fired back with a tweet Thursday night, saying he is waiting “for facts before I talk about them.”

“I love transparency. I just wait for facts before I talk about them. I’m confident the results of all IG reports will show honest public servants worked hard to protect this country from a threat this president and his enablers won’t acknowledge,” Comey tweeted at Meadows, adding “And @ me next time, bruh.”

The sparring comes amid the news that Comey will not be prosecuted by the DOJ even though the inspector general referred him for possible prosecution over the leak.

The full report from the inspector general is not expected to be completed until at least next month, according to The Washington Post.

The larger report focuses on federal authorities’ investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and the Trump campaign and Comey’s role in it.

Comey was fired from his post at the FBI by Trump in May of 2017 and has been an outspoken critic of the president since.

Meadows is an avid supporter of Trump and has called for an investigation into Comey and his handling of the Russia probe.

I think the real crime is the FISA abuse because there’s multiple felonies. And his name is on the FISA. No way out.

“Comey knows he’s untouchable.”

Yep. That seems to be the case based on what has happened so far in Trump’s Presidency.

“Comey knows he's untouchable.”

Although you may be right, I'm not sure that's the entire story. I truly believe he is mentally ill in a manner, and that he is oblivious to reality.

Yeah this is now really p1$$ING me off. The fact the DOJ won’t be prosecuting this pathetic mutt and seeing his insistence on attacking the President with the phony Russian collusion claims does not sit well with me and undermines every principle of justice.

They know Trump won’t do crap to prosecute. He could have declassified al of this and forced the DOJ’s hand into doing something. The worst thing that can happen to Trump is not have his enemies fear him. I would have applied the same standards to these assholes as they did him, prove your in ocent! Hillary, Comey, Rosenstein, Brennen and especially Obama. But they know nothing will happen to them. They are the Mafia.

Barr is a good friend of Mueller and Mueller is best friends with Comey.

That's interesting. Word around the campfire is that the IG recommended prosecution for Comey leaking memos.

Does Derpy McHighpockets not know that?

AG Barr is the one who is supposedly declining to prosecute on that point.

[JC] can't open his yap without lying, it seems.

p.s. The only 'facts' Comey may be aware of are the sections that pertain to him as submitted to his lawyers for 'principle review'.

So, yea. Let's wait for facts.

Apparently Comey trolls 4chan. That stupid tweet was screencapped and posted just 17 seconds after it was made on the board.

None of the coup plotters are going to be prosecuted, that is as clear as can be.

America can not survive this in your face two tier justice system. Those that committed these crimes will be back in just a few years when president Trump is out of office and they will be even more bold. Imagine what these evil people will do when they have complete control of all the levers of our government including the military. We are headed towards brutal conflict.

Even Mark Levin was reading the text of the Declaration of Independence today. It appears he sees this ending badly as well.

Indeed, if there was a crime against the people, this would be it, but the deep state is not interested in going after poachers within their ranks of restricted predators.

This is very dirty

What I find as pure horror is that most in political office are mentally ill in one way or another. It takes a great amount of people to support these people. What does that say about the state of our society and future? My answer is not to be revealed.

The defenders of the DOJ decision not to prosecute Comey’s leaks point to the FISA abuse case as the more provable of the two. I don’t buy that. Why are they splitting the charges into two cases? Why not combine the two? This is “career Democrat DOJ lawyers” putting their thumbs on the scales of justice pure and simple. They even drug out the “no intent” excuse Comey used to “exonerate” Hillary.
