Im with you. The Daily Kos map is a little hard to read but it looks like trump carried 7 districts here in California, 7 in Illinois, 6 in New York, etc. On the other hand, Clinton carried 7 in Texas. Im all for allocating electoral
Votes by electoral district to give voice to the people, and let the chips fall where they may
But it would put states like California and Texas much more into play because of the split Electoral votes available.
I think most states would have the urban areas go Blue, and the rural areas go Red, but a Republican candidate couldn't afford to write off California completely, and a Democratic candidate couldn't write off Texas.
That is GREAT news. Kick the RATs out!
Polismoker was all too happy to sign this piece of crap.
I signed it.
Colorado is a state with a small population compared to big populations such as CA and TX. The irony of CO passing the “popular vote” law is that the electoral college was created by the writers of the Constitution to protect the small original 13 states from being overwhelmed in the national elections by the bigger original 13 states.
By telling its electoral college to all vote for the candidate with the biggest national popular vote, CO will have little effect on the vote for president after just 4 or 5 big states record their vote totals.
You nailed it ! That's why the popular vote would work only if we were the United State of America.
Since Colorado has been socialist for many years if there is a change it would most likely be for the better.
Now use the same momentum to deport anyone that moved there from California, the Northeast and all the illegals. Send everyone back to where they came from and start over.

Real world example, Massachusetts’s US Senate election to replace the seat held by the late Sen. Ted Kennedy in 2010 won by Scott Brown (R).
Back story was how the Democrat Party dominated Massachusetts (MA) Legislature (2004) was urgently concerned that, under then current law, Republican MA Governor Mitt Romney, could appoint a replacement for US Senator John Kerry should he win the 2004 US Presidency. This caused the MA Legislature (with ACTIVE support from Sen. Kennedy) to strip that power from the Governor and having the seat vacant until a replacement election.
Now go to 2009 and Sen. Ted Kennedy was terminally ill and a vacant MA seat could doom the PPACA (Obamacare) from passage in the US Senate. With a deathbed letter from the beloved Teddy(?) urging action, the previous law of 5 years ago was reversed and when Teddy passed to his ‘reward’ in August, Gov. Deval Patrick (D) appointed close Kennedy aide & friend, Paul G. Kirk (D), to that seat at the end of September 2009.
When the PPACA (Obamacare) came to a cloture vote [12/23/09] in the US Senate, it was Sen. Kirk along with party jumper Arlen Specter (PA-D) who provided the required 60th vote(s). Should the old 2004 law have been still in effect, cloture & passage of the PPACA (Obamacare) would have failed.
The number of other examples is legion but strangely, to my knowledge, very one-sided towards the Democrats being ‘creative’! Strange that!
What? Citizens choosing their own representatives? This must end!
The present Electoral College system discourages cheating in those areas where cheating would most likely succeed.
Once a majority of Californians decide that the Democrat should be President, it does the Democrat no good whatsoever to steal more votes through fraud in California. That is a good thing.
At the same time the place where cheating might be effective would be those where Republicans have nearly as much political power as the Democrats and thus might be expected to be able to detect or prevent such cheating.
I am reminded of a report I read some years ago that King County in Washington reported vote totals which greatly exceeded the number of registered voters.
Honestly, I wish they had spent their time and attention on repealing the oil and gas regulations that were passed directly against the will of the people. This “popular vote” thing is unconstitutional anyway so who cares. But I’ll take anything to push back on Commie Polis.
This is great news.
