Saw the video. The protesters had blocked the entrance and when the truck pulled up and tried to enter they surrounded it, some even jumping up on it. It looked liked he may have slowly tried to drive through them but but stopped and I saw no attempt to run over anyone. Maybe he should have.

I find the Russian dash-cam video thing to be both interesting and hilarious.
I was unaware of this "phenomenon", and stumbled across it by watching a video someone sent me a link to, then seeing more of them, and realizing there are hours worth of them out there. They are scary, funny, bizarre, unsettling, and insane all at the same time.
I ended up one night with a couple of friends watching hours of them, and I came to two conclusions: 1.) I will never drive in Russia if I ever go over there. 2.) Everyone who drives in Russia either has never received any driver training, has no common sense, is totally intoxicated, is totally drugged out, or as a matter of convention simply ignore any rules of any kind on the road.
I asked a female physician I know (from Russia): "I don't want you to take this the wrong way, but I watched these videos, and I have to ask: are the drivers in Russia are really that insane?"
Without even a smirk or any trace of emotion or anything, she said simply "Yes. They are."
I found out later reading an article by Forbes ( You Never Need A Dashboard Camera Until You Really, Really Need a Dashboard Camera )that there is a reason there is so much dash-cam video: A lot of drivers have them, because if you get into an accident, and you don't have any video proof, whoever pays the corrupt legal and judicial system off first and best is the one who WON'T be held responsible, especially in cases where someone is staging an accident of some kind.
