Jail guards threatening former Epstein cellmate Nicholas Tartaglione: lawyer

Jeffrey Epstein’s former Manhattan cellmate says guards at the lockup have been threatening him since the financier’s death, according to a legal filing by his attorneys Tuesday asking a judge to move him to a new prison.

Hulking ex-cop Nicholas Tartaglione — who briefly bunked with Epstein at the Metropolitan Correctional Center — has been told by various guards there to “shut up,” “stop talking” and “stop complaining,” as questions swirled about how the accused sex trafficker was able to commit suicide in federal custody, Tartaglione attorney Bruce Barket says in a letter to White Plains federal Judge Kenneth Karas.

Well, he will be sleeping with both eyes open the rest of his life.

He might be the only one “in on it”, who hasn’t been paid off. Right that they should worry about him.

Unless they already have a plan for him...….

We have a moral obligation to keep prisoners safe while in custody. I don’t think we can take care of this guy.

Odds are Tartaglione killed Epstein.

What I the hell is going on under Barr’s jurisdiction? This is a federal incarceration, but Epstein was allowed to die and employees - guards - are allegedly acting like monsters.

Trump and Barr should have made keeping Epstein alive, a top priority. Why didn’t they?

Judge Jeanine knows Tartaglione and said on Fox last night she wouldn’t doubt for a minute that he attacked Epstein the first time, which everyone seems to be accepting as a suicide attempt.

Gee I dunno...with 113,000 employees, maybe AG Barr delegated the job of running this prison to...a warden perhaps?

That reminds me - I just downloaded The Godfather Saga, and I have to start watching it tonight. I never saw it in chronological order, and that should be very interesting.

That said, I’m pretty sure that Tartaglione would remember to leave the gun and take the cannollis. He’s no Fredo.

The AG cannot regulate every jail/prison in yhe US. Being where he is, he can only deal wi5h situations after the fact. Look who the worthless mayor is. Look at tbe worthless governor. Look at the police chief. THEY are much closer to this than Barr.

You can’t delegate responsibility - esp for the more sensitive prisoner in the entire US justice system. This is exactly the kind of case where the top guy has to stay closely invoked. Epstein’s death proves that fact. Barr wasn’t monitoring

No, but for the most explosive case in the system, the top guy has to keep very close tabs. Many were predicting Epstein would be silenced. But Bumbling Barr (or corrupt Barr?) didn’t give this vital case the personal attention it screamed out for, to make sure those predictions didn’t come true

ok, there is “attacking” and there is “killing.”

tartaglione seems like the type of guy who could snap a guy like epstein like a dry twig if he wanted to. but if he attacked him, obviously he did not kill him, and epstein could have set him off (or even tried to attack him first).

obviously tartaglione has a story if he chooses to tell it and if he is allowed media interviews (?). i would think that the sooner he tells his story, the more protected he would be in the long run.

apparently things are very bad between guards and prisoners such that prisoners are kept hushed about what goes on inside the prison. if so, it would follow that many of the guards could actually be dirty guards.

if many of the guards are dirty guards, then it might be easier to reach epstein in theory (presuming the body double theory is not operative, which is admittedly somewhat debatable).

what would not be explained is why there have not been more escapes with so many dirty guards, unless they are only dirty along some dimensions and not others (eg escape).

As a former cop in prison, I doubt he will rest easy regardless.

I wouldn’t trust any of his scumbag lawyers. They VOLUNTEERED to defend him, they were not appointed.

All this trash wants is a lawsuit against the government and appearances on “news” shows.

After-all, their big money court appearances and interviews fizzled when he died.

Think about it.
