Socialist-style government intervention in the voluntary cooperation between buyers and sellers in the marketplace is what creates shortages and economic woes.

Well said in a succinct way. Its unfortunate that Millenials and their brainwashed peers don’t recognize this simple reality.

Americans would hate a true democracy, constantly bombarded with issue campaigns on every issue under the sun, using TV, mailings, emails, texts, billboards...

*************

We’re already close to that now. Everything is politicized 24X7.

The reason we are saddled with $25 trillion in debt is because we let the Federal Reserve bank create our currency out of thin air and loan it to us at interest. Its debt that can never be repaid because you cannot repay debt with debt. Trump understands this. Going forward I doubt that savings and CDs are going to be a viable option. You will have to invest in other ways.

We have to put dollars into circulation that do not carry debt.

More BS scare talk.

Indeed it is. Expect more of this. No recession = 4 more years and the Dummies know it.

What gets me is the democrats and the media, because of politics, MUST oppose the economic war with China, and in doing so, are cheerleading for China over their own country, and are hostile to American workers, with an election in a year where those very same workers get to vote.

Of course the dems and media will try to hide it, but we’ve got to get the word out.

Letters to editors, calls to radio shows and tv all should start with the question:

Why are democrats siding with China over the USA? It’s just because of Trump, isn’t it?

Cheerleaders for recession are hoping that an economic slowdown will stop President Trump. They don’t care how many people are hurt as long as they get to rule over the little people. They want the future they have dreamed of for generations, and they want it now:

“If you want a vision of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face - forever.”

And with that, who’s going to want to put their money in the bank?

There will be mass withdrawals to other assets like ... WHAT?

Bitcoin!

Rates were zero or near zero for the entire reign of King Zero - Obama.

We don’t need to be “saved” from a recession. It’s a normal and necessary part of the economic cycle.

How about money market funds, how about the same place they put their cash when Obama had a compliant Fed.?

At zero we will still have the highest interest rates in the developed world. Pretty amazing. 30 yr bond at 1.94%, much lower already than it hit during the Great Recession of 2007-9.

Yields are relative not absolute. We are still the best horse at the glue factory. Europe and China in trouble, not sure where Russia sits.

Goodness, have we got a doom and gloom guy here. His three problems are all his opinion and are not viable.

All these concerns he mentioned are based upon the control of wealth and none of it is a basis of worth, it’s just a tool to procure it. This is how business has been done in the world since the cavemen traded food. It’s nothing new and the US is in command as when it all gets down to it, the only representation of worth is that that can offer survival: food, water, and shelter. And that is the priority.

You can’t eat other “worths.” And China is realizing this and is trying to save face fighting an economic war it can’t win. And it’s because they can’t feed themselves enough to survive...and we can. It’s not a matter of who has the most toys when the game ends. It’s who can be there to see the end of it.

“I suggest you find country with the best policies for savers and then move there.”

I have voted for Republicans for 40 years who claim to favor balanced budgets and limited government. What I got were three GOP presidents who ran monumental deficits (Reagan, George W. Bush, Trump) and a GOP Congress that did nothing to restrain spending under the Democrat president Obama. Three GOP House Speakers (Hastert, Boehner, and Ryan) who did nothing to limit the size of the federal government or restrain federal spending.

“Should that [Iran] conflict escalate into a military conflict...”

It has been a military conflict for years. Iran was the one building the IEDs that killed and wounded thousands of American soldiers.

Iran does not want a direct military confrontation with the United States. The Iranian government does not trust its own people. They tried for an overthrow when Obama became president and Obama supported the dictatorship.

Nonsense. There may be a slight slowdown as American suppliers adjust to moving out of China, but it will be nothing like what will hit the ChiComs.

I say over and over again, China is FAR weaker than anyone knows. Demographics are killing them. They will be an OLDER nation than the USA in less than 10 years. This is a terrible harbinger, for even without the drag of communism, it is the young who, for the most part, invent, innovate, and drive growth. (Yes, I know all about Ray Kroc and other older success stories).

As for energy, we are on the cusp of blowing ALL the other countries out of the water, and can conceivably replace virtually all of them in 10 years.
