Hell, weve used that in the military as long as I remember. We called it Zulu Time. But its the same thing with a different name.
IMHO, it wont be practical for civilians beyond those dealing in navigation issues.

And while we are at it lets get rid of the base 60 time base — 60 seconds, 60 minutes, 12/24 hours. Replace it with some kind of base 10 metric system where 100 units equals 1 day.
TIME to ditch all professors and start over.
Obviously they have nothing to do if they have time to fiddle with time.
This doesn't address time zones directly, but it might make me less stressed when they talk about it.
The USA would be a far better place without university professors, a class of parasites who would perish if they couldn’t suck dollars out of the pockets of more useful folk.
