Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who proposed “Green New Deal” climate change legislation, warned that melting glaciers could release ancient diseases that the modern world is incapable of handling.
The first-term Democrat from New York said she woke up while on vacation at 3:30 in the morning worried about the consequences of climate change.
“I’m 29 years old, I really struggle sometimes with the idea of how to be a policymaker, and potentially have a family in the time of climate change,” she said on Instagram live Tuesday, listing a number of impending environmental catastrophes like melting glaciers and rising sea levels.
“Scientists fear that there’s a potential that a lot of diseases could escape these melted glaciers, things that were frozen for thousands of years, and that they’re going to get into our water, and that humans could contract them, and they are going to be diseases that are thousands of years old that have vectors that we are not prepared for, that we have never seen,” she said.
Ocasio-Cortez continued that even if primeval diseases aren’t unleashed, the effects of climate change would extend the range of mosquitoes.
“Now mosquitoes are starting to fly further north that carry diseases like malaria, and a whole slew of other things,” she said.

What an idiot AOC is. Even when glaciers and ice sheets are growing they are “rivers of ice” that constantly melt or calve icebergs at their terminus. There has never been a day, in the entire history of life on this earth, where ice was not melting somewhere.
I would tell AOC to go back to bartending but she probably sucked at that job too.

Someone should explain to AOC that whatever is frozen in a glacier will come out regardless of climate change, since they are just a slow moving river of ice. Apparently she skipped that class in School..............
