A Long Island sixth-grader says her teacher barred her from picking President Trump as her hero for a class project — and then trashed the commander-in-chief in front of the class. “Donald Trump is my hero,” the crestfallen 11-year-old Bella Moscato told LI’s Channel 12 last week. “She said I wasn’t allowed to do Donald Trump because he spreads negativity and says bad things about women.” She added: “The thing I didn’t get, she was OK with someone doing Barack Obama, but not OK with Donald Trump? That’s what got me angry.” Her outraged parents want an apology from the instructor, who they accused of attempting to intimidate Moscato. “I can’t believe that anybody in the school would tell her that guy [Trump] can’t be her hero,” father Arthur Moscato exclaimed at a recent school board meeting. The Sachem Central School District’s superintendent denied the Moscatos’ claims in a statement to the television station, but offered a different tune when contacted by The Post. “I wish to make it clear that the District does not endorse or condone any limitation or prohibition upon a student’s choice of the President of the United States of America as the subject of his or her ‘Hero’ report,” Kenneth Graham said in a statement. He otherwise declined to comment on the case, citing privacy laws.

When my daughter was in high school I never took this kind of crap from those people.
The school board had back down from me a number of times. They were sure glad to see my daughter graduate.

No seriously I always tell my kids act like a girl in school and whatever political nonsense or LGBTQRXTU nonsense they give you just roll with it smile and act like you care

Massive lawsuits if it’s possible to afford a lawyer. Some conservative lawyers will take these on, pro bono.

Do it on President trump anyway, and tell the teacher she does not get to pick your heroes.
It would be better to invite all of her class to the white house but not the teacher.
If your students know your politics then as a teacher you have failed.

They did the same thing to my nephew last year in kindergarten after the board went homo fag in their curriculum. The parents (including my older brother) went to meet the admin and being of Italian descent, my brother made them an offer they wont refuse..
My teachers never got into politics in the classroom.
They stuck to class materials and subjects related to the course being taught.
IMO < teachers who touch on the following issues should be fired
homosexuality
gender studies
sex education before the age of eleven (some might argue, ever)
political activism
political figures currently in office
Islam and any of it’s beliefs and teachings
In K-12th grade, our kids need to be focused on their studies and not on other issues.
Talk of certain things takes their attention off more important things. We graduate kids now who are getting hundreds of not thousands of hours less training or information and skills to get them through life.
That needs to stop right now.

If they’re willing to participate in this, they don’t belong in a position of authority over children.
Further, I would have them registered, never to be allowed to be in a position of authority over children again.
It’s the “good guys” who may decide they (including substitute teachers) need to leave their workplace because of the mandated curriculum going into effect in 2020. . .curriculum that requires a student to show acceptable levels of understanding or they won’t pass 8th grade.
