Many have predicted that a lot of cable TV channels would not survive à la carte TV as they count on people paying for the channel who don’t watch the channel.

In other words, not subsidize them like PBS and NPR? How will I ever live without these channels I never watch?

The dying throes of a dying industry...

How dare the individual public want to choose what they want to use and pay for?

"What's CNBC? My TV stops at channel 13 like it's supposed to."

One of the many reasons I dropped satellite and cable completely was the fact that there were something like 200 channels of crap that I had no desire to watch, that I was paying for. I’d prefer to subscribe to only the 5 or 6 channels that I was actually interested in watching. Nowdays, the only purpose of my TV is to act as a monitor for my media (music primarily) player, and for the odd time I might want to watch a DVD.
