Adam Schiff's Impeachment Fun Playhouse
American Thinker ^ | Sunday, Sept 29, 2019 | Clarice Feldman

Posted on 09/29/2019 5:30:41 AM PDT by upchuck

In tacit recognition that his party will never beat the President in 2020 with the gang of whackos vying to head their ticket and that no real impeachment will ever occur, Congressman Adam Schiff, with the acquiescence of Speaker Nancy Pelosi, called to order what they are calling an “impeachment inquiry.” It’s presumably designed to see whether formal impeachment proceedings should begin. (Impeachment proceedings cannot take place without a vote to do so in the House. Vulnerable Democrats would never vote for it any more than would almost all Republican Congressmen. And conviction and removal from office for impeachment would have to occur after a full hearing and two-thirds vote in the Senate. Which also will not happen. The Democrats, again, are counting on the civics and Constitutional ignorance of their base.) It flopped, in any event. The hearings, in fact, show that this is simply the rerun of the Russian Collusion scam. Only the name of the country has changed -- this time, it’s Ukraine; a country you may know is a major enemy of the Russians.

In her article, Clarice mentions a Daniel Greenfield article. It's posted here on FR.

Who says a formal impeachment inquiry requires a vote of the full house?

Is it in the Constitution?

See, even if it was, it would not matter one bit. The dems could give a poop about the Constitution. Why would coup plotters care about rules? They are drafting the articles of impeachment as I write this and will have a a formal vote when they return from recess. Not on starting an inquiry, but passing the articles out of the House.

Nan sent her members home to build support. But they won’t be able to build actual support. Instead, NaN sent her members home to allow the media to build its faux support with fake polls and the usual aplomb of ten panel news shows of nodding bobble heads. You know, like Russian Collusion and the same polls that had Hillary as a lock.

Given such “huge” support for impeachment, there will be a short debate when the House returns followed by a quick vote.

I’m am more and more convinced those Swampers in DeeCee, media and academia, who see themselves as our “betters” live in a complete parallel fantasy universe. To many of us out here in (to them) “Deplorable land”... we see the impeach hysteria as little more than an old style DemoKKKrat lynch mob... and with lynch mobs accusation is all the “evidence” needed to convict. #NotInMyCountry

I recall that they already took a vote, and that only 93 members of the House voted in favor. So why is this charade is proceeding anyway?

As quickly as this whole thing was pushed, from an announcement that there was a “whistleblower” complaint to the almost immediate announcement that an impeachment inquiry is going forward without a single substantiating fact, tells me that this whole thing was planned and orchestrated to protect Biden’s Presidential run. Too bad the House isn’t as dedicated to performing its actual Constitutional duties as it is to achieving DemocRAT conquer and control.

The author makes a lot of assumption, all dubious.
1. “Vulnerable Democrats won’t vote for impeachment.” Ha, they will vote as they are told, or else. Articles of Impeachment have been introduced several times since 20 Jan 2017.

2. “Two-thirds vote in the Senate. That won’t happen”. Ha, I count at least 55 to convict and probably closer to 62. Don’t forget that little Johnny Roberts is the presiding judge.

3. “civics and Constitutional ignorance of their base”. While that may be 50% of the country, does the other half stay quiet and let this all happen? Doubtful, at best. Acquiescence at worst.

I would suggest this....it will become a thousand-ring circus. Roberts may think he’s presiding over this....but Trump will have his legal team to oppose the House prosecution team, and his people will poke at Hunter, Joe Biden, Hillary and the DNC at every chance. Then you toss on the fact that Ted Cruz, Mike Lee and Lindsey Graham (all accomplished lawyers) will be hammering Roberts on each decision that he makes and lecture him to the ninth degree.

All of this will be filmed by the Trump crew and used for November campaign footage. It will destroy the DNC strategy in the end.

It isn’t an impeachment. That would require a vote. An “impeachment inquiry” literally means nothing. They’ve been intending to impeach Trump since he won. (’peach foty fi) They won’t stop because they have no reason to. No consequences, why stop cheating?

There are potential consequences. They are making a calculated risk that over 50% of the voting population (I am leaving out vote fraud for simplicity) has no clue what the DemocRATs are doing. They lose if that percentage is below 50, and we can help by informing people.

Playing fast and loose with the law, and changing the rules to suit the ‘need’...both are hallmarks of the dhimmicraps.
And, as long as the pubbies don’t fight back, nothing will change.

It really does look like both parties are on the same team...one world government and nothing but subjugated masses, everywhere.

Jefferson was right.

Sad.

My admittedly imperfect understanding is that this is based on House rules:

The House votes as a whole to send a recommendation for impeachment to the relevant committee(s) (I think Judiciary). The committee investigates and has to vote out a recommendation to impeach, with articles and the House then votes on the articles.

The Dims could certainly change the rules, which they can with a majority vote. But, they would have to have the vote to change the rules.

My understanding is the latest charade gives Pelosi control of the committees critical to impeachment (as opposed to the chairmen, like Nadler and Schiff).

An open trial gives a Trump defense team the opportunity of discovering not only who the whistleblower is but also the leakers who provided the info, as well as direct info on Biden and his son.

“”Too bad the House isn’t as dedicated to performing its actual Constitutional duties as it is to achieving DemocRAT conquer and control.””

You mean “as dedicated as Nancy is”, don’t you?

“”I recall that they already took a vote, and that only 93 members of the House voted in favor.””

Why do you think there was already a vote taken? If there was, it was certainly hidden. Didn’t they get out of town as soon as Nancy announced her position?
