Then it will be a lot like early voting, I would guess, but theyre still going to have to figure out which ballot youre going to use based on your precinct & congressional district. I suspect maybe you will be waiting in line for a longer amount of time though. Harris county has had republicans in charge of the county clerk office for many years, but that changed in the last election. With the Dems in charge, Im a bit suspicious too.
I don't understand how they make this so difficult. Collin County has had countywide voting since I started voting. Then, while I lived in Dallas, you were assigned a specific polling place based on your address. That usually was the opposite direction from the house than work or the grocery store or anything. It's pretty easy to have specific ballots available based on all the different city races, and each polling place is stocked with proper numbers based on their location.
What was really stupid was keeping 750 polling places instead of cutting it down to one or two hundred.
