The female FBI lawyer who was caught sending anti-Donald Trump texts lied about her relationship with FBI agent Peter Strzok when the director of the bureau confronted her, a new book exclusively obtained by DailyMail.com reveals.
Lisa Page told Andrew McCabe that she and Strzok were not an item and had never been romantically involved.
Page was 'acutely embarrassed, mortified' that her affair was public but chose to lie rather than tell the truth, writes James B. Stewart in his new book Deep State: Trump, the FBI, and the Rule of Law, out today.
When their relationship did become public, so did the texts they exchanged mocking Trump and his supporters, with the two becoming a symbol of the so-called Deep State that was out to get the President.

I was among the few here at the beginning who screamed, “Why are we accepting Big Media’s word that they were lovers?!”
I recall a few here telling me that there seemed to be no reason to believe they were NOT lovers, and “They’ve got the texts.”
Many here still really, REALLY want to believe Big Media, especially whne it’s not seemingly DIRECTLY related to politics.
Am also saddened by how many here keep being surprised at how low our domestic enemies will go.
Page always seemed to me to be one of the thousands of single women in DC....single and nearing forty, with no marriage or BF. A lot of them simply have some guy they know (doesn’t qualify for BF status) that they meet for drinks and an hour in the sack...once or twice a month. It’s not a relationship and I doubt if it qualifies as an affair.
This isn’t the book’s big reveal claim. That is that Sessions and Kelly were the two weasels considering invoking the 25th at Rosenweasels behest.
IIRC Page is/was married.
"Mr. Smith goes to Washington" and is shocked, I tell you, at what he finds.
I asked the same... We were played. Come on guys, how long will we keep believing them.
Hey, MSM, this is NOT news. She was a married woman having an illicit office affair and trying to keep it secret. She was always lying about it. That was known from the time it first came out. SHEESH!
A role model wife and Mom working for the FBI.
They campaigned here, too.
We had a dedicated Hussein Head here about the same time who for about a week posted nothing but “concern” over our President’s mental health before scurrying back to DUmmyLand.
Well, “it’s just sex” and there was “no criminal intent”. “No reasonable prosecutor” would pursue this.
CALLED IT A YEAR AGO.
They only used that angle so that much of their texts could be omitted as ‘lover’s conversations’ and so on. Also, it seems a lot less sinister if they’re just two close lovers saying this casually instead of actually saying this on the job. Then it sounds like conspiracy.
If true, is it any surprise that Sessions acted the way he did? Ive always believed that he was a plant.
Lying about an affair is not a particularly high crime. I almost don’t blame Clinton for lying about Monica.
That’s because an affair is usually none of the public’s business.
Am I wrong here?
Yes, I remember reading many of those, and absolutely none of “can’t wait to see you tonight” kind of stuff.
IMO, you’re supporting the “BJ Clinton was impeached because of sex” narrative, rather than for his lying under oath.
what’s the ratio in DC?
Unless it’s a Republican.
