Turkey's Syria invasion: Member of US Special Forces says, 'I am ashamed for the first time in my career'

A member of U.S. Special Forces serving alongside the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in Syria told Fox News' Jennifer Griffin on Wednesday they were witnessing Turkish atrocities on the frontlines.

“I am ashamed for the first time in my career,” said the distraught soldier, who has been involved in the training of indigenous forces on multiple continents. The service member, whom Griffin described as "hardened," is among the 1,000 or so U.S. troops who remain in Syria.

“Turkey is not doing what it agreed to. It’s horrible,” this military source on the ground told Griffin. “We met every single security agreement. The Kurds met every single agreement [with the Turks]. There was no threat to the Turks -- none -- from this side of the border."

Fox “News” is a euphemism for Soros and Romney
which are the probable source.

yeah i’m ####ing embarrassed too. And disgusted.

And for the too lazy to read, it’s been stated over and over that these kurds are watching THOUSANDS of ISIS prisoners.

What happens when the kurds watching them get dead?!?!

Turkey, who bought up SO MUCH OIL from ISIS and gave them free passage and their tanks watched as ISIS killed kurds.

Trump is WRONG on this one.

IDGAF how many Great decisions he has made, and he HAS made a lot, he is WRONG here.

No idea, but sounds like more fake news to keep the military there. Were they invited? The Russians were, maybe they should be the ones to get involved? Next maybe we’ll hear about Turkish soldiers throwing Kurdish babies out of incubators?

Smells like fake news to me. If this soldier wants to defect to the United Nations Special Forces, OK by me.

I’m avoiding these threads because I do not want to get into down and dirty arguments with FRiends here on this subject.

Trump had ALL of this time to get out of Syria but now his bull sh## excuse that he’s doing it now is because it’s finally time?!?!?

No, he’s being a pu$$y to the Turkish president and that’s a shame.

It’s apparent Trump made a deal with Turkey.

And the Turks are not keeping up their end of the bargain.

It's always possible for citizens to sneak over to help the helpless kurds.

What's stopping you?

Of course it’s legit. But there are freepers here who will curse at him, a special forces soldier, our finest, who is on the scene, because he thinks we should support allies. So what’s the point in asking? I support they premise of getting our troops home and not fighting other people’s wars, but do we leave our partners to be slaughtered? What’s that say about us? There was no good answer for this situation.

I’m certainly not SF but given the disloyal track record of “Trump’s Generals” it certainly rings true.

With 7 civilian deaths so far, there’s probably another 50 or a hundred on each side too.

The Turks are probably not targeting civilians. If they were, there would be 10,000 dead already.

How did I know freepers would come out and insult our finest soldiers because they think their mission had purpose?

We really do NOT know what is going on there. And let’s not forget that elements of ISIS were likely supported by us vs Assad. And the Kurds are Muslim commies who, IIRC, have not been too nice to Christians over there. It is a terrible mess.

Not holding your view against you. You may have more info than I do.

That “soldier” is no better than Tokyo Rose. He should shut his mouth. You got suckered into helping him demoralize people.

For someone who says they are avoiding these threads, you’re not doing a very good job. If I were you I would ask the moderator to remove your post. Before you get a time out.

It feels manufactured to me, too. I am not buying all this, yet.

We should give the Kurds javelins, stingers, other weapons and intel.

Unless you want to take on Turkey, Iraq, Iran and Syria to carve out a country for the Kurds, there’s no reason for us to remain there.

IDGAF how many Great decisions he has made, and he HAS made a lot, he is WRONG here.

I do hope you realize that the goal of this group of Kurds is to overthrow the government in Turkey. Also, we happen to be 'allies' with both the Kurds and the Turks.

As usual, there are no good guys in this fight.
