er, we were referring to the regenerative braking system.

The simple point is that oil is used for more than energy production, and that going all electric won’t stop our need for oil.

As for what I quoted, I took just the first two paragraphs. It wasn’t intended to mislead; I just didn’t want to post the whole article.

I’m sorry, I was off by $501 for what’s available.

By your numbers: $40,500 for a 322 mile EV that can charge in 20 minutes.
And if we average to 300 miles, that’s $37,750.

I’m sure you’ll feel free to correct my math.

Well, my point is that 85% of what isn’t gasoline is still energy production... and what isn’t sells for cheaper than just about any waste product, about four cents per pound. But I certainly didn’t mean to say you INTENDED to deceive.

Do you actually think I would advocate stealing gasoline from a neighbor?

An honest answer, please.

These guys have reached 111wh/kg thats mid way up the spectrum for lithium ion energy density ranges, but they blow LI ion out of the water with charge rates and more importantly cycle life. 250,000 cycles at less than 10% loss is a significant breakthrough this would mean an effectively infinite life time for a vehicle battery pack millions and millions of miles.

The pack could be small enough like 30kWh enough for 120 miles of all electric range this covers 99+ percent of daily commute distances. The top end level 3 charge standards are now 500kw with 1000kw in the next year or two. 1000kw would put 30kWh in a pack in 1.8 minutes think of it this way drive 2hr at an avg of 60 mph then get out to piss by the time you are back you have another two hours of drive time. I have never due to traffic averaged more than 60mph between Dallas and Houston or Midland.

My bladder makes it to 3 hrs tops so thats a 45kWh pack charged in 3 min at modern level 3 charge speeds and this battery tech can take 100% DOD and a 400C charge rate. I put 38000 miles a year on my ICE vehicle most of it is a 100 miles per day commute the rest is 400 miles each way to Midland or Houston all of that daily commute would be covered by a 30kwh pack and with two two minutes stops I could get to Houston or Midland with juice to left over I normally stop once at least each way to piss and eat so an extra 2 minutes stop is trivial at best in a 5 plus hour trip. EVs are the future period full stop for 99 percent of all drivers like I said 38000+ miles a year and ALL of that could be covered with an EV and a small 30kwh pack half the size and cost of current EVs if they can take 400C charge rates and thousands of cycles its game over for ICE cars.
