So who’s the right person to do the asking Teddy? You have potential blackmail and corruption by an officer of the United States with China.

The head of the Justice Department? (Picked by Trump)
The ambassador to China? (Picked by Trump)
The head of the FBI? (Who would’ve been ordered by the guy who was picked by Trump)
If Trump asks - or one of his appointees asks - what’s the difference?

it’s not a crime no moreso than the last 2 years of political coup the Democrats AND YOU have been doing against Trump.

Fair is fair, EVERY congressman’s tax returns should be up for review. I’d love to see how one of those pukes goes into a freshman 6-year term with 100-grand in the bank and finishes with $20 million. Let me guess, investing in cattle futures.

I don’t think Trump should have asked China to investigate the Bidens, but not for the reasons stated by Ted Cruz.

It’s not a matter of it being inappopriate to ask, but it’s because its silly. The Chinese investment firm was created to buy sensitive dual-use American technology companies. The $1.5 billion is the amount under management, not the amount that flowed to Hunter and indirectly, Joe Biden. The Chinese government approves of the company’s purpose and acquistions, and how they spend the management fees necessary to perform those acquisitions is a business matter. It’s bribery, and the government approves as long as it helps their acquistions get through the CFIUS process.

The size of the bribe in China isn’t billions... it’s more like a percentage of the management fee (I think Hunter was a 20% owner). So, if there was a 1 % of assets management fee, the total management take was about $15 million; after operating expenses, Hunter’s take might have “only” been a million or two per year, maybe less. It doesn’t take billions to bribe Joe Biden. It takes a few millions; but for those few millions, he will help control the flow much larger amounts.

Since this is an implementation of Chinese strategic policy, its naive to expect the Chinese to investigate it in any meaningful way. The situation is different than that in the Ukraine, where the new Zelensky government, and much of the population were sick of corruption and wanted it investigate.

Also, the corruption of the Ukraine and the corruption of China are entirely different. In China, the bribing of influential foreigners is consistent with national policy. In the Ukraine, there appears to be a lot of private corruption and skimming of revenues from the gas business and foreign aid, diverting national revenues into private hands.

In both cases, bribing the Bidens (and Kerry stepson Chris Heinz) was useful in influencing US policy, but in different ways. PS—it also appears that Nancy Pelosi’s son got involved in some Ukrainian action, as well.

Amazing what a Canadian citizen spouts off about US elections. This turd is NO different than the rapper Obama.. See what Harvard sends out upon US ... Romney the two faced, self-righteous Ukraine hooker, or Raphael the fraud Cruz.

Exactly where does the Constitution state what is or is not ‘appropriate’ for the President of the US to ask a foreign nation to do A, B, C?

Raphael Cruz preened himself at Harvard as a follower of the ‘original intent’ of our US Constitution... but, he ignored for himself, that ‘natural born’ requirement. I despise these that in the name of ‘right’, for self interest willingly pervert our Constitution.

The Cuboid-Cunuck is a solid ally of the president and for that I give him credit. But there is a reason Trump is the president and he isn’t.

It’s all smoke. The investigations into Biden’s “dealings” are already done. All this talk is causing the MSM to focus on China just like Trump did with Ukraine. Cruz isn’t hurting the cause with this statement, he’s helping.

The MSM won’t cover a story unless there’s a chance that it may implicate Trump. He’s taking it for the team. The Swamp is being drained.

But itt is ok to shame voters with bogus campaign letters.

Imagine a world where Republicans stuck together like Democrats. Oh well, just a fantasy thought.

We don't need no stinking "fantasy thoughts". Supporting Republicans just because they're Republicans was part of the GD problem going back decades.

Ronald Reagan’s Eleventh Commandment: “Thou shalt not speak ill of any fellow Republican.”

Unfortunately, Republicans like Ted Cruz and Mitt Romney have been making a career out of speaking ill of our current Republican president, thereby giving aid and comfort to his enemies who are trying to destroy him.

True but think of the implications of having control over 1.5 billion to invest. What control will that allow the fund to have over other business? What other businesses can be the subject of a shake down when they need cash and political clout? Think leverage. What additional leverage can be had when investing these amounts?
