In a bipartisan rebuke to President Donald Trump, the US House of Representatives has overwhelmingly passed a resolution condemning his decision to pull United States troops out of Syria, abandoning US allies in the region as Turkish troops have moved in.

The 354-60 vote on the resolution Wednesday was largely symbolic, but it signaled the widespread disapproval among lawmakers for Trump’s latest controversial foreign policy move. It came as fighting continued in northeastern Syria between Turkey and Kurdish fighters, who have been a key US ally in fighting the terror group ISIS.

Twice as many Republicans voted to condemn Trump than voted to support him.

They should all move to Syria, since that's where their interest apparently lies.

So, are they going to vote on a Declaration of war?

I have news for his opponents: if they think he’s wrong, they can declare war on Turkey.

They aren’t offering an alternative because they’re opposed to anything the President does.

“The 354-60 vote on the resolution Wednesday was largely symbolic...”

Noooo, it was ENTIRELY symbolic.

Glad the House doesn't have more pressing matters - the country must be in pretty good shape.

If the idiots in Congress want a war they can declare war. If they don’t vote for war they can STFU.

I suspect that President Trump is shutting off their warmonger revenue streams. Almost every congressman is as dirty or dirtier than Quid Pro Joe.

Still trying to map out who controls gas and oil pipelines at the expense of manpower and materials we can no longer afford to lose, time after time after time.

Enough.

OK boys.

You’ve made your position clear.

Just declare war on Turkey (which you HAVE the authority to do) and you’ll be all set.

So they were all in NOT having the 50 troops withdrawn from the path of the 15,000 strong turkish forces pushing south ? There are times to stand in harms way, but only a fool tries that with 300 to 1 odds.

They just wanted to poke their thumb in the President’s eye but deep down, the fools know he’s right.

I think they should all be loaded into a ship or plane and sent over to Syria to take the place of the troops who have been withdrawn. They can even take their spouses and kids with them.

“Their actual fuc*ing job is to either declare war or STFU.”

Perhaps President Trump should have a friendly congressman introduce war declaration legislation and dare them to vote for it.

Please do that Mr. President and watch them squirm

The error Americans make is to think the Kurds are monolithic. They are divided by tribe, by politics and by nation. Historically, they have never been able to unite, and they have not done so recently. We have supported them both politically and with arms. If some thought America was going to be in Syria and Iraq forever (and some factions have not been so foolish) they have misread President Donald Trump.

This will really help Trump when Russian and Turkish body bags start coming home and Erdogan eventually signs a cease-fire with the Kurds. Trump can say that he bucked the entire swamp establishment to save our soldiers.
