The former Texas governor was in his home state Thursday when he reportedly told President Trump he will be resigning his position as secretary of energy. Earlier reports said the secretary was planning on leaving the administration, but Perry did not confirm those reports. Perry did not state specifically what day he will be leaving the administration.
Sen. Ted Cruz called Perry a "good man & good friend."
.@SecretaryPerry is a good man & good friend who has devoted his life to serving his country & the great state of Texas. Rick Perry is one of the Trump administration's original cabinet members.
Wasn’t this announced a while ago?
this has been breaking for 2-4 weeks already
October 4th, 2017
October 3rd, 2017 / W P
The above two post should have referenced 2019, obviously not 2017.
I was thinking of the 17th, and it leaking into the date
Rick and I have been talking for six months. In fact I thought he might go a bit sooner,” Trump added. “We have his successor, well announce it pretty soon.”
In a resignation letter sent to Trump and made available later Thursday, Perry expressed his gratitude to Trump and the American people for this opportunity to serve.
Perry never impressed me as being very bright.
Are you saying the dark rimmed glasses didnt help?
Trump should nominate the energy savant, Hunter Biden.
Get rid of the department.
What a great opportunity to announce The mission of the Department of Energy is completed and the department will shut down at the end of the year.
Lol. No, not at all. I’d forgotten about the glasses.
Hey, Biden and Pelosi’s sons are high paying energy company employees, maybe Trump should consider one of them to run our energy department so they might share that well-paid expertise with the American people?
Old news. It was leaked a while back and Trump singing the high praises of Texas and her representatives announced it again...
He ain’t departing in a hurry.
Been there three years and leaving in a couple months.
Is he going to head Journey again?
I think it was when Trump was in Alvarado at the LV factory that he said Perry would be leaving at the end of the year.
Since Perry became Scty. Energy, new drilling fields have been opened and old regulations cancelled or replaced with more lenient ones. ...The US is now energy independent and no longer has to import oil and is the largest energy producer in the world.
I guess you’re right, laplata; Perry must not be very bright.
Maybe he can’t keep up with POTUS’ schedule anymore.
