Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham, who has been one of the most vocal critics of President Donald Trumps decision to move U.S. troops out of northeastern Syria, said on Sunday he now believed historic solutions were possible.
In an interview with Fox News Channel, Graham said a conversation he had with Trump over the weekend had fueled his optimism that a solution could be reached where the security of Turkey and the Kurds was guaranteed and fighters from Islamic State contained.
I am increasingly optimistic that we can have some historic solutions in Syria that have eluded us for years if we play our cards right, Graham said.

Plain and simple.
He has given me no reasons to not trust him. I thank God every day that I made the right decision for my country when I cast my vote for him.
I think not.
There are two problems with long-term ‘help’ for the Kurds.
First, there is the PKK relationship to the Kurds, which is the funnel for military hardware funding. Drug distribution into Europe, money-laundering, and kidnappings....all part of the PKK agenda. It makes no sense to hook ourselves up to the Kurds.
Second, unless we really think this is a good idea, the Kurd idea was a carving off of northern Syria to be their homeland. It’s simply not in the US interest to sign up to that position.
If anyone in Europe or the Russians themselves want to partner up and get heavily involved....fine.
Hey Graham....who is this "we" that you refer to?
The only one playing cards is the President...and you just got Trumped.
Unconventional common sense = 7
I give Linda credit for taking a pause to watch and learn. No money in it for the Defense Industrial Complex though.
And all the jackasses who constantly trash President Trump will realize he was right, come aboard and say “Well I always trusted the plan” even though the first thing they did was rush to the TV to trash him
I never said I trusted Linda. Just The Donald.
Trump must have threatened to give out his cell phone number again.
Boy Linda must have gotten an earful from his constituents if I were his constituents I would be looking for someone to primary him!!!
Hey Lindsey...This is why Trump is The President and you are NOT.
This is good. I don’t care about talk and personalities, I care about actions and results.
Thank God Linda and Mitch are up in 20.
Primary this Cheap Labor Express stooge before he gives our country away.
He is STILL working on amnesty for illegal aliens.
Maybe, next time, Linda, keep your cake hole shut until you know the facts, instead of running out wailing to the media at every Fake News soundbite.
There must be an election coming up. Just watch, if this finnochio gets another term, the day after South Carolina f***s up and sends him back to The Sewer, he’ll be just another of Mitt’s many mouths. I’ll bet he’s developing a taste for Mormon sausage right now. We all know who the new McLame is...
I don’t think Linda has reformed one bit. I’m certain this brief appearance of occasional Trump support is just to sneak back in for another term.
And I have no regrets for sitting out the 2012 election and not voting for Mitt Romney.
Well, he’s no dummy, that’s for sure.
He knows how to read popular opinion.
Syria madness. If President Trump hypothetically wanted to not invade Iraq as President Bush did,the left would bang the drums of war. If President Trump were President during 9/11 and he unleashed Hell on the Taliban, the left and the NeverTrump scum would call for impeachment because they would blame him and block everything the President would try to do to protect and defend the Constitution and America.
Tell you what, Graham, forget Syria!... Historic solutions in the United States that have eluded us for years, if we play our cards right, are possible if you get off your butt and get the judicial nominees flowing again!
