Correct. France could say no

France really, really wants Brexit -
UK had the best EU-deal of all members. They kept their own curency, they got a rebate, never joined Schengen and still kept all the rights to vote and veto in the EU.

Macron sees the huge benefits of bRexit for France.

So Angus beef would be more expensive than Charolais etc. Also he would see more French goods and services selling in the EU market as well as less competition for exports to non-EU markets.

Macron is itching to vote Non.

Boris does not have to approve. The only point of the Benn act was for him to ask. Nothing about him approving it. He can make excuses and delay and not ratify it.

The positive revenues in the EU are from (in terms of % of Gross National Income):
Germany,
Ntherlands
Sweden
Belgium
France
UK
Austria
Denmark
Finland
Italy

So far more than UK, France and Germany.

1. “that if
the Conservatives and Brexit party unite “ — read the news. Farage called out Boris and Boris basically said he wouldn’t be found dead in a ditch with le Farage.

2. “ Queen must desolve the Govt.” - the Queen can’t dissolve the government — whatever gave you that idea???? She can only dissolve parliament if the UK Government tells her (formally requests her) to do so. And the UK gov can’t do that as per the 2011 Fixed term parliament’s act which was passed by Cameron that only if 2/3rds of MPs agreed could the house be dissolved.

Parliament blocked Johnson from a no-deal Brexit.

His hands are tied there.

Everything happening now is at the request of Parliament, not the Prime Minister.

hmmm... you're right "the Benn Act, is an act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom that requires the Prime Minister of the UK to seek an extension to the Brexit withdrawal date—currently scheduled for 31 October 2019—in certain circumstances. The main provisions of the Act are triggered if the House of Commons does not give its consent to either a withdrawal agreement or leaving without a deal by 19 October 2019. The Act proposes a new withdrawal date of 31 January 2020,which the Prime Minister is obliged to accept if the proposal is accepted by the European Council. "

Well he is the Prime minister, so even if parliament is moving it along, he is responsible, unless he resigns.

It will if there is a new Parliament. A December 12th General Election is getting more likely, and odds are the Tories will get a majority.

The new Parliament will then approve the withdrawal agreement and the UK can leave the EU.

He needs a two-thirds majority in the House of Commons in order to override the Fixed Term Parliament Act, passed by the Conservative-Liberal Democrat coalition in 2010.

The Tories do look like they are on hand to get a majority, yes. Which may be the very reason why Labour won’t give him the chance to call an election.

But it looks like the SNP and the Lib Dems may give him a majority to amend the Fixed Term Parliaments Act to set an election date. That only requires a simple majority in the Commons and the Lords.

The SNP need an early election, because if one occurs during Alex Salmond’s trial, the SNP would lose seats.

That’s pretty sneaky AND effective of the SNP and the Liberal Democrats.

The SNP get an early election AND Scottish independence, while the LibDems see a chance to quadruple their seats.

It another step closer to the back lash against the Establishment. Be afraid. The people of the UK wanted this and they were denied.

Brexit is dead. Take it to the bank.

Your glib words make it sounds like you are happy about this.

Note - it’s a “flextension”, so the UK could in theory leave on Oct 31, 2019 still, or anytime until Jan 31, 2020.

The people of the UK wanted this .

i've repeatedly told you this is a false statement

The only facts we know are that

  1. 37% of British voters in 2016 wanted to leave. Some kind of leave - what kind was never polled in detail
  2. Scotland (60+%) and Northern Ireland 56% majorities in that advisory referendum did not want to leave while the majority of those who voted in the referendums in England and Wales wanted a kind of leave

That is all we know.

it is quite definite that about 40% to 48% still don't want any kind of leave and it is pretty definite that 30% to maybe 35% want hard Brexit - based on the percentage voting for the BRexit party in 2019.

That is all.

It is also definite that you cannot say "the people of the UK wanted this" - because "this" was never in the polls

the this you refer to is Boris' deal - a good one, but one which Nigel Farage does NOT want, which the DUP does NOT want. That's 11 people who don't want "this" and there are others among the Leave camp who don't want "this"

The Brits should get on with it and agree to Boris' deal, because there is no one deal or no-deal or cancel-deal that a majority will agree upon. But don't make the mistake of saying "the people want this" as that's a false statement

"So voting does not mean a thing to you?"

Evidently you didn't read:

  1. the voting was in an advisory referendum
  2. in that referendum in 2016, 37% of the total electorate voted for "a kind of Leave"

One cannot take that as basis for a statement "The people of the UK wanted this "

The people of the UK didn't vote on Boris' plan. They voted for

  1. 37% for a kind of Brexit
  2. the MPs who sit in parliament to decide the kind of Brexit

Ohhhh I get it -- question to you central_va: are you saying that "the people of the UK who voted in their Members of Parliament in 2017 voted for this chaos and indecision because they returned a hung parliament"?

Interesting point of view - so are you saying that the people of the UK voted for the chaos because they voted in the 2017 GE?

And to help you - fascism = "a governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism."

Do you support this? I don't, so don't toss nonsensical pretend-insults.
