I'm sure Lance Barksdale told you he made that call for that mindless reason.
Your statement is ignorant.
--- I believe that it is not unlikely that many of those first inning problems are from getting used to the mound. Throughout the Majors, they all have their peculiarities. And, pitching off the mound on the field of play is quite different than throwing in the pen.

"However, as I have said on a couple of posts, picking the burned-out Harris (12 postseason appearances) was a bad choice by Hinch."
-- That is possible. I don't know Harris at all. (However, many pitchers pitches move better when they get a little tired.) Who knows.
I tend to think that the manager knows Harris better than we do.

Nevertheless ......... it was one GREAT World Series.

He deserved it ---- 12 runs batted in and all in all he was a total pest.
The Pirates spread it around..... no real star.
And as I was playing in a soccer game with a little black transistor radio in my hand that October 13th, Maz made my summer/fall complete ..... and beat the fantastic New York Yankees.
It’s not as if any of these guys won’t have enough rest before their next start.
The home team won every game in 1987, 1991, and 2001.
Within 16 months form January 1969 through May 1970, three New York teams (the Jets, Mets, and Knicks) won their first titles.
Barksdale was miked and he was caught on an open mike telling Gomes that was why.
Ok....clearly a less rare occurrence than what happened this year.
Baby shark came about by the player Parra, he needed a walkup song and his little kids loved the song so he choose it and it sent the crowds wild......people even come dressed as sharks...I mean head to toe...
What happened this year with the road team winning every game has never before happened in any sport.

Wealthy lobbyists, beltway bandits, politicians...your tax money at work. Those who “boo-ed” are likely your typical LIB lunatics.

Rockefeller had the gall to occasionally give his booers the middle finger on occasion.
I grew up mostly in Westchester County, New York. I went to high school in Irvington, which is on the river.
One time, there was a motorcade up Route 9. President Nixon was going to meet with Governor Rockefeller at Pocantico Hills. It included Nixon, Senator Jacob Javits, Attorney General Louis Lefkowitz, our RINO Congrssman, and Rocky.
I had worked my way to the front and I was right up against the sawhorse. As Rockefeller came by, I leaned forward, did the Rocky wave, and in my best Rockefeller impression (which was pretty good), said, “Hiya, fella” (his pet expression.)
The governor pulled his head inside the car and rolled up the window.
Gerardo Parras two-year-old daughter is obsessed with theBaby Shark song, so Parra made it his walk-up music. Well, Parras arrival coincided with the time the Nationals started to take off, so the song became an unofficial team song.
Thank you both for the explanation of why 'Baby Shark' is associated with the Nats. Never heard of the song, so I watched the Baby Shark video. It's cute (to watch once, lol).
Check this video out. Wow... seems that ALL Nats' fans really get into the Baby Shark thing :-D

Congratulations to your Washington Nationals! They were awesome today with our President at the White House! :-)
