I'm not suggesting adopting every Libertarian position, but moving towards less government, more freedom, and respect for personal rights sure could help move the needle in this kind of contest.

IIRC It was in downtown Lexington. It’s a city. Cities are packed with reliable D votes both dead and undead! :-).
