“Bevin is down by 4700 votes with two precincts out. The 16 precincts that were left in Russell County broke 72% for him.”

If he were a Democrat in Minnesota he’d be putting the finishing touches on his victory speech.

All I was saying is that the libertarian collects the protest votes for whatever reason.

I never think that anyone voting for the libertarian would have voted for the republican, it is stupid. Could have been a protest vote, could have been a supporter of that person running, or just didn’t like either the ‘rat or the republican and felt the libertarian was a place to park their vote. Since they don’t win anyways.

I never subscribe to the dogma that 100% of the libertarian candidate would have went to the republican, I will say the same about the green candidate as well.

And Bevin is an idiot, you know, Chris Christie went after the Teacher’s Unions, he had public support to do that. Back when Christie was governor of NJ, we had a radio station called 101.5 and the morning commute host, Jim Gearhardt was a giant anti-teacher union guy, he did his show for two decades with that theme (and government corruption as well). So Christie had support to shake up the unions and change tenure and pension rules. And Christie never attacked individual teachers, heck some even supported him.

What Bevin said was idiotic, and I was surprised it was even this close, the dem should have won by a landslide.

The bad candidate lost this race

This is typical of Kentucky. The vote for a Dem governor and pretty much republican for everything else. Except in the Dem strongholds, that is.

‘It’s a complicated picture.’

the key is the political stance of the L candidate; there are in fact flaming left wing libertarians, and a candidate of that stripe will draw them...though not an L, in 2016 Jill Stein certainly drew solely from Hilary Clinton...

To repay Trump Bevin should not concede AND should demand a recount.

All to keep the MSM from gloating.

This woman, along with other women I know voted for BEVIN tonight. I know one who never ever voted before. Voted today for Bevin.

There are many women for Bevin. And for Trump. Lots of Republican women who love America and keeping babies alive. And keeping our guns. And love our U.S. Constitution. And USA.

I am ashamed and pity the men, women, boys, girls, and whatevers who do not.

Nearly all of the data I’ve seen shows that L candidates vote R in other races and that L voters take from R votes in most cases. D’s don’t lose hardly any to L candidates. The R’s have their issues for sure but there is a difference in who wants the nation 100% destroyed and who doesn’t.

I don’t subscribe 100% to anything. Data can change for sure.

It is my belief that when the nation’s existence is in mortal danger is not the time to be 100% pure.

It would be nice if, just once, a Republican candidate in a close election would “find” enough ballots to win.

Democrats would NEVER concede an election this close until they manufactured a winning margin.

Looks like a lot of people who would have voted for Bevin holding their nose saw that and said “oh, great! I can still not vote for Bevin without having to vote for Beshear!” The down ballot results seem to prove that.

Jill Stein was not a Libertarian. I stressed that the data I have seen has shown that L’s take what is known as the PURE conservative (in their mind) voters. The voters who may be social libs but are usually fiscal conservs. That is all I am basing my statements on and they could be wrong.

I don’t wish to split hairs any longer tonight, lol. I believe Bevin has likely lost by a slim margin. Good night :)

The dems have the green party

Even then I don’t subscribe to the dogma that dems lose races where greens siphon votes away. I believe most people vote for someone or something. Maybe the green voter for the greens because of purity, or because they are sick of dems and don’t want to vote R or maybe they just like the platform or the person better. It doesn’t matter

I just don’t think blaming 3rd parties for loses is a winning strategy.

If we had a candidate that wasn’t an idiot, we would have won the governor’s race easily and the libertarian would not even been a factor.

Wouldn’t count on those votes from Fort CampBell.

Most of Fort Campbell lies on the Tennessee side and most soldiers are residents in Tennessee.

So, not many votes there....
